Flame away

Mar 26, 2014, 10:56 AM

Flame us for not supporting our team, then flame a bunch of exuberant kids for "over supporting" them. Laugh all you want, ESPN...I will take passion over apathy any day.

I can guarantee you that in 4 years, my son will be the first one onto the floor!

You know, you just have to consider the source when it

comes to ESPN. They are what they are, biased and condescending.

If we win and get screen time, it's all good!

The mighty SEC has a conference rule against fans going onto the court or the field of play. ESPN, Paul Finebaum, and Tim Brando, among many others, have made it an article of faith than fans have no business being on the field of play, that violence is inevitable when fans do go onto the field or the court and that such conduct is completely inappropriate.

They believe a rule is needed everywhere despite the traditions of Clemson and others for whom meeting and greeting the players at midfield or mid-court is a long standing, practice observed routinely at Clemson for decades, and at most US high schools around the nation.

The idea that every fanbase is a drunk riotous crowd prone to violence has lots of credibility in SEC country. Many of their venues are closer to rowdy English soccer stadiums than to almost all the other college campus arenas and stadiums in America.

The concept of a collegiate atmosphere is inconceivable to
the ESPN and SEC crowd.

Well stated and exactly what I first thought about it. +1.***
