Jordan Travis oozing confidence

On CFB Countdown being interviewed and just saying that his O-Line should just not hold because no D-Lineman out there could catch him. Wait until you see XT again.
Got to have that confidence though. I like it.
Also, he’s responsible for 77 TDs for his career, which is 2nd most. Is the amount that low at FSU? Clemson has had multiple players score more than 100 times in the last 15 years.

BUT, when you BUST Assignments (like our guys do at times) you can definitely be taken advantage of!

just last year in Tally, on the way to a 1Q TD.
And after the turnovers were cashed in at the end of the half, Jordan and the FSU offense drove the field multiple times.
We are not as quick as we used to be on the DL, nor as adept at rushing lane integrity.
These things showed against Riley at Duke as well this year.
We're going to have to play a different type of game to beat FSU. All we've done so far this year is talk.
I wish Dabo would cut off the entire team from the media, throw their TV's out of the dorm and Football Center, and try something to get these guys motivated and focused!

Look i love my tigers beyond belief but we could not penetration against Duke ...really Duke ? We had 56 four and five stars players verses their two ? This season is not going to be pretty I pray we turn it around I really do ...but I don't see that compared to the writing on the wall

We had a lot of penetration just no sacks. He was throwing balls away half the time. Don't know stats but I'd say over ten hurries and pressures and hits. Also didn't want him to run, which he did anyway.

He doesn't have to be straight line faster, but if he is faster than who he has seen so far, and our D as a whole is faster, if can have an impact on the quality of his play. I think that is the point she was trying to make.

He had a sack against Charleston Southern where he literally pushed the O-Lineman over like a little kid. And then got a good hit on the QB.
Xavier really is faster than ever, and looks the best he’s ever been. He is basically at NFL level now.
When I say NFL level, It’s meant that if he is 23 years old, he must be at the level physically and mentally to compete professionally.
I think Xavier’s problem may be with fundamentals. Another problem may be his reliability he puts on his size and stature. Big and fast and athletic does not guarantee you results unless you practice fundamentals deliberately.
I feel that XT may have gotten a big head and maybe “slacked” off or just didn’t work as hard as he really could have during the first 3 years he was at Clemson. Those fundamentals that were supposed to be gotten down pat are now being developed. Because he’s been working harder and everyone knows it.

I think Riley Leonard is a better QB than Travis.
When Goodwin was asked to describe his defense earlier
in the offseason he answered " aggressive ".
For whatever reason we have yet to see that. Maybe playing from behind against
Duke wasn't the ideal time. But , make no mistake , we have the dogs.
They just need to be turned loose.
It hasn't been necessary last week or this week either frankly. Hopefully
Wes has been holding his cards close to his vest so there will be an element of surprise ,.
At least that's what I tell myself.
I fully expect him to turn up the wick against FSU but we can't be playing from behind to see it.
We need to jump out front first and force Travis into making mistakes. He will

If you look at the past 2 seasons, we could have had defenses just as good as 2016-2018, it was just that the offense provided no help at all, and actually damaged defensive rhythm.
If our offense can somewhat click, and keep possession of the ball longer than FSU, and really any other team, our defense will be elite. And at that point, we don’t need an elite offense with how good a Clemson branded defense can be.
All that said, we did see some flashes of aggression against Charleston Southern in the 2nd half. Obvious plays happened that I’m speaking of. But I want to see them step up and shut down FSU.
Because in reality, FSU does NOT have better players than Clemson. Not only regarding individual caliber, but overall depth is just better at Clemson. They caught up though.

He was oozing last year when we kicked the ooz out of him...in the second quarter when LSU (the almost tiger team) was pressuring him I saw some ooz on the back of his shorts...our D can make it appear again!
