WIS (Cootlumbia) just now stirring about the booing...

I wasn't at the game. If you were, I would like to know was it like 83,000 booing, because that is what is being portrayed. How much of the crowd were booing. Just curious. I don't agree with the booing especially when military personnel are being honored.
Comments from coot fans are "Keep it classy Clemson", which first to say something like that you would need to know what class is, which they will never know.

I do remember, the booing started when Obama's name was mentioned. It sounded like it started in the student section?

third. Certainly audible. Someone,in charge should have previewed the program and should have anticipated that reaction from what was included in the program. Again, they set on their a---- and slam the door when the mule is out of the stable.

Wow. I was actually at the game and thought it was even worse than portrayed in the video.
I barely even heard a boo --- there were MAYBE 5,000 people involved...not "a third of the stadium" as I heard.
People getting butthurt over that little murmur need to go suck one.

This was not the time or place to administer this oath. Had it been properly thought through however, the announcer should've asked the fans to refrain from applauding or cheering until the end of the oath, such as you would do at the end of the national anthem or an invocation prayer. It is a "solemn" oath and commands respect while being administered. Also, the oath is not referring to any particular president, but rather the authority of the office of the president.

I don't hear many outright boos. I just hear a crowd

making various noises or grumblings. I have no doubt, most people in the crowd are not Obama supporters. I was expecting to hear a chorus of booing after reading tigernet I don't see what all the fuss is about . It doesn't sound like many people were outright booing.

Thanks for the Video! I wasn't at the game but after all this talk and concern over this (and the alumni email from Barker about this incident) I just knew I would hear about it from my coot in-laws.
I'll still hear it from them but good grief, if there were people at the game that were totally unaware that there were boos then this is absolutely a non-story.
You put it well "'Twas more of a murmur"
Awsome.

to 83 than 83,000. I thought nothing would surprise me anymore, but this matter has been embellished beyond belief. A lot more should be said about the number of people who shed tears during the other parts of the day's events for those who have and continue to sacrifice so much.
This dead horse has been beaten so much, that it is no longer recognizable.

I was there and I agree....it was like a murmur more than a boo and it was right next to our section, I think, and certainly not that noticeable. Unless a person was there and knows what happens, they should not comment. And it cracks me up for coots to tell anyone to act classy due to the way they treat opposing teams' fans. Even a coot told me they were embarrassed by the way coots treated Ga. fans. She said it was awful the language that was used and the things coots did.

Barker should have known better ...

He should have known that his email was going to receive a lot of attention. This has been blown so out of proportion.
Just check out some of these comments:
Example:
"Clemson is going to pay like hell for this act. Nothing means more to these people than college football. Not even their Bibles and guns, nothing.
Recruits are going to hear about this (I promise you) and considering that probably 3-4% of blacks will once again vote GOP, good luck recruiting any black athlete to Clemson. That is exactly why the school president is speaking out. He knows what's at stake.
But they brought this on themselves. And I am going to spend the next few months, regardless of who wins this election contacting potential recruits in this area and making sure they understand the racism behind this act. And I have an easy means to do this and it is very easy to see who they are trying to recruit. And of course you will say it isn't racism rather criticism. As I told you at the top you know nothing about this area. Or would understand this is all about race."

I was there and I didn't even realize it was an actual oath being taken until it was almost over. I was feeling right, but I wasn't drunk...I guess I was on the look out for the flyover.
The boo occured when they said "I will obey the orders of the President of the United States." I don't have a problem with the booing, but I do think it was in poor taste given the oath that was taken place.
That being said, the booing was noticable, but definately the minority of the stadium. If Barker would have just kept quite about it, you would not have heard anything else about it. But because this letter is floating around, all of the media is making a story out of it.

and the few that were doing it, I wouldn't even call it boos. Just noise really, but it was definitely to show disapproval of Obama
