A rivalry needs to go back a ways. It takes time to build up the hate, the feeling that you have to win that game. Being close in proximity also helps. When one town seems to all ways go to school "A" and the next town over goes to school "b". I remember the days when Clemson played GA every year. That was fun.

A good rivalry also has nothing to do with if both teams are good or not. It runs deeper than that.

GT is their traditional rival. We were for a short while. UF and Tenn for a bit. Bammer has been lately

Depends on where you live in the state. We’re surrounded by programs we don’t particularly care for.

UGA is uniquely positioned geographically and a target because the state produces so many good players. They have been a pretty good program for a long time and have been several different teams bulletin board material at different times. Some would say Florida, some would say Auburn, some would say Tennessee and some would say Clemson when we played annually. Nobody would ever say Alabama and only lunatics would say UofSC. Ga Tech people claim it but don’t really have results from the last 40 years to back it up. I’d say Auburn but it’s been a friendly rivalry compared to their others.
