programs like UF, OK St, etc have gone after coordinators as well.

It's hard to say what will be open. Gus Malzahn was a hot name but the best offer he had was Vandy. NCSt is obviously a better job than Vandy. You can actually win at NCSt.

IF you win at NCSt (which is doable) and do it with a high powered fun to watch offense, you can get a home run job.

If you don't win, people remember what his offense did at Clemson and he can go back to OC at worst case scenario.

Unfortunately,and you can say what you want, Chad Morris high powered offense hit a brick wall against Lorenzo's Wards's Gamecock defense.
As of yet Morris offense has yet to defeat a top 10 defense like we saw Sat. night.
So if Chad is contemplating a move,or if a major college with an opening comes calling,I think a move in the ACC would be in his beat interest.
Frankly,He would get killed at Tennessee,or Arkansas,or Auburn when he faces the likes of LSU,Bama,Florida,and of course the Gamecocks,
So Chad,if you are going I would suggest State,but don't consider the SEC.You ain't ready.

If my memory serves correctly, not one coach there has moved on to be a head coach anywhere else since Granny Holtz back around '75. It might just be a coaching graveyard.
