This is coming from someone inside the program. The coaching staff, C.J. Spiller was irritated that Shipley didn't fight to get into the endzone for the TD. Shipley literally was talking about the LACK OF BLOCKING from the OL. For C.J. Spiller to question the effort of Shipley, who gives MORE EFFORT THAN ANYONE OF THE TEAM, is ludicrous to start with. I was told this didn't start last night. There have been words said, that the OL in not playing pissed off and not controlling the LOS. I AGREE 100% with that statement. Remember the Wade Woodazz INT that was returned down inside the 12. We literally needed 3yds for a first and goal. We picked up 2yds and then it was 4th and less than a yd. We DIDN'T get it, because of our WEAK ###/NON BLOCKING offensive line. Our OL is the weak link on this team. Go back to the Duke game. Cade was running for his life, and having to make quick decisions, and couldn't go through his progressions. This OL is a PROBLEM for our team. Yes, we were missing Walker Parks and it showed. Will Putnam the center, gets pushed back into the backfield almost every play. I believe the OL can play light years better than what they are playing. It warmed my heart to see Will Shipley to STAND HIS GROUND and defend himself against an insane coach questioning his effort. They need to call out the OL and call them what they are. They are WEAK, SLOW, have bad technique, and CAN NOT BLOCK a high school defense. GO TIGERS!!!!

Coach Swinney praising the OL in the post game hangout with ACCN made me nauseous. I hope his jedi mind trick works on that bunch, but I think a Danny Ford approach would be better. We'll see.

OL pass blocking was very good.
That men’s something.
Also, while not quick, FL Atlantic’s DTs were big strong guys. Built for stuffing the run on goal line situations. To be a good FB team, much more is needed from a DT unit; that is a big reason why FL Atlantic is a poor team. It is a mistake, however, to not acknowledge that FL Atlantic has a powerful interior DL unit.

Maybe there is a problem with the OL….. regardless, a player never should be disrespectful to a coach. Unfortunately, that is exactly how it came across while watching the game.

The offensive line is the one weak link in this team. It was never more apparent than it was in the Labor Day opening game.
I can see why Shipley was upset and reacted the way he did. Hopefully it will open some eyes on the coaching staff. We might even find a few OLs in the portal!!!! They are needed. IMO

it’s obvious, even last year with Ship, that he’s pizzzed with play and/or effort of his OL and last night got in a blocking TE (I believe) that didn’t block effectively for him on an around end play.
We must remember Will is exceptional in what he does, how he trains, his mind set for excellence and expects same from the team that he relies on for his current success which it expects gets him to the NFL.
But yes, don’t fight the coaches from the field or sideline and on TV!

Not sure I buy any of this. However, CJ has a reputation of being very demanding of his players.
Not sure if this is what is hurting him on the recruiting trail or not.
Nevertheless, Will was wrong to act like this in front of fans and team.

“Someone” inside the program should be someone OUTSIDE the program today!! Since you sound like a whiny little child one can assume one of the whiny little boys runs up a bill their mouth can’t pay for and will be handled. Shipley is a team leader and there is no instance where you throw a tantrum at a coach and certainly not on TV!!

WRs, I believe, who stood and watched a man that was his assignment to block. Of course we couldn't hear the conversation but it was clear after seeing that guy take a play off that Ship was reading him the riot act. The guy who the blocker was watching made the tackle.
That does not excuse his disrespect for CJ. I fault him for losing his cool mostly because I know the film review will support Ship and lashing out at a coach is unjustifiable, absolutely unjustifiable.
He needs to settle himself down, tend to his business and let the coaches do the coaching. The last thing we need is a diva on this team. Our record is bad enough over the last half a dozen games as it is.

Watch the replay. He was behind 2 OL that got a 3 yard push into the endzone. He should have scored. He played slow all night. Mafah and the other guys didn’t seem to have a problem running behind the OL.

Which reply are you watching??? By the time Shipley is handed the ball, OL #75 has been pushed one yard into the backfield at the point of attack, leaving space for FAU #3 to slide into what should have been the hole to the end zone.

He has a legitimate complaint but there’s a time and place for everything. You can be 100% correct in what you’re saying but if you say it in the wrong way you lose the power of persuasion. Ship needs to learn his boundaries both as a player and later as a professional wherever life takes him.
That being said it was a p!$$ poor showing by our offensive line. Absolute garbage in that goal line situation.

same play that Mafah was running and fumbled on the goal line at Duke. Mafah got the same blocking, which was none at all. THe Duke player was behind the line of scrimmage before Mafah could get there and put a helmet right on the ball. That fumble was not Mafah's fault. Crazy to question Shipley's effort at all.

Shipley has proved to me he can play. CJ has proved to me he can play. CJ has not proved to me he can coach. We have had a suspicious number of RBs transfer out under his tutelage.

I still think the Lyn-J situation did not have to play out like it did, and I put most of that on CJ.
It’s still possible to simultaneously question CJ’s coaching chops while noting that Ship has an attitude problem, isn’t regarded by the team as the leader he thinks he is, and absolutely was the issue last night.
Dabo relies on culture more than most coaches for both recruiting and building a team, and he’s clearly had incredible success with it. The flip side of that coin is that when the team chemistry and culture is anything other than top-shelf, it’s going to hurt us more than most teams as well.
