Will Dabo Replace Saban? p2

Only he knows what he wants or where he would rather be. If the Job was open now he might. Just me but I think Dabo wants to build something special, he is his on man don't stand in the shadow's of others, he's putting something very special together with Clemson Coaches, Players & Fans Why just stand on a mountain when he can help build a mountain. The longer we have him the harder it will be for him to go. Just look at DF still lives only a few miles from DV and attends most of the games

replacing a guy who wins multiple championships is a career-killer. Very few survive that.

Bama didn't offer Danny a HC job.
I don't think there's any way to predict whether or not Bama would come after Dabo or what Dabo would do if that happened.
I'm not even sure if Dabo would fit in with the SEC. I wonder if he'd give up his integrity to participate in the filth that floats in that septic tank?

I agree! Dabo has too much integrity to fit in very well in the secheat. That said, it might be hard for him to walk away from his Alma Mater if they came with an offer. I do believe he loves what he is building at Clemson, and I doubt the money or fame of that job would influence him as much as most. Dabo will be successful, no matter where he is. It's in his DNA.

to and if he has done that at the time Saban retires, Alabama would definitely go after him. I also think Dabo would go. He is an Alabama boy and would love to coach at his Alma Mater. He won't give a rat's a$$ about following a legend in my opinion. And finally, I wouldn't blame him.

His coaching career is still ahead of him. We rolled the dice when we hired him and so far we haven't crapped out.
Speaking of coaches who don't seem to make any long or short list, I hear SOS top every list out there.

I don't think Dabo would ever leave Clemson (on his own terms) for any other coaching job, even his alma mater. I also don't think Bama would ever pursue him. Not saying he is not a great coach, but the history, pressure and expectations between Clemson and Bama are not even close. Bama can get whoever they want and I think they would pull from the NFL. I just don't see them throwing $5M Dabo's way...unless he wins 3,4,5 national championships in the next 10 years. And let's be realistic, that is not likely to happen. Besides Dabo has stated he is wayyyy overpaid. He's happy, he's modest (I think he still lives in his $300K house) and he is building a name for himself rather than always being compared to Saben and Bryant. Like someone else said, Saben's succesor is most likely doomed. As long as he keeps winning, I don't see him going anywhere until he retires. I could be wrong...I hope not.

Dabo is exactly what the majority of Tiger fans have hoped for. He is extremely emotional, fan friendly, says what he thinks, has a reputation as a spiritual man, appears to love Clemson like no other place on earth, and is one of the best recruiters in the nation. I think the big boys will come calling for him when has a couple of 10 win seasons, or even an 11 win season, and then destroys a ranked SEC team in an exciting bowl game.

be in demand anywhere one day. The reason you haven't heard of anyone pursuing him right now is that everybody knows how he feels about Clemson and Alabama would be the only place he would leave us for.

because "they know how he feels about Clemson." If you want a coach, you try and go out and get him and make him an offer. Trust me, there wasn't a scenario where a big time program thought, "Well, we really want Dabo, but he loves Clemson so let's not even put him on our list or make him an offer."

If he was offered, he would definitely take it.

Now, I think he still has to win some bigger games to consider being offered, but let's assume that Alabama has extended him an offer- the ONLY reason he would not take it, is because he didn't want to try and live up to Saban's absurd accomplishments. Don't give me that "Dabo loves Clemson too much" or "Dabo has too much integrity for the SEC" BS, if Alabama offers (especially if it's your alma mater), you accept. Unless you think you would be on a short leash given what Saban has accomplished.

Lol Dabo has too much "integrity" to leave Clemson? He would leave in a heartbeat for Alabama. The bigger question is if Alabama would even offer him the job.

Whoever hires Dabo better have a lot of money because on top of what they will be paying him, they will be paying big bucks for an OC and DC as well.

Go away.
Dabo isn't stupid. The first coach to take over after Saban will get crucified as the George W. Bush of college football, they would be run out of college coaching for good. They couldn't keep up with Saban unless they pay recruits and feed them steroids at the same rate Saban does.

This is really a laugher of a topic right now simply due to his resume and lack of big wins and nationally ranked schedules.
Now, should Bama come calling that would mean all of this would be history and he would have a few National Champs and big wins under his belt so really the way the question is worded is actually something to discuss.
Yes, if Bama comes calling he will go and Yes, Tiger fans will be fine with it. The reason, he will have brought quite a few champs to Death valley to even get the phone call. I guarantee fans would vote to let Dabo head for Bama in a few years after brining 2 or 3 Champs to the Tigers.
