Why do bands with the best harmony vocals mostly come

Jul 18, 2012, 10:32 AM

from California?

Beach Boys, Crosby, Stills, and Nash (CA their base), The Dead, Poco, The Eagles, The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Bros...

Is it the low humidity? The great weed? Tequilla? Do they have the ghey hitting those high notes?

One of the best from Poco:

LOL at these pop/rock people having good harmony vocals.

They couldn't hold a candle to bluegrass or gospel music.

The Grateful Dead = Good Vocals?????

Jul 18, 2012, 10:38 AM

You crazy. Ever heard Phil sing Unbroken Chain? TONE DEF!

Pigpen had pipes, and Jerry and Bobby had their moments, but the drugs killed their vocals.

Also, the Eagles SUCK!

Talking harmony vocals only...not talking Michael Bolton

or Tony Bennet type vocals here. Eagles vocals are some of the best ever...same with Beach Boys, though neither are my cup of tea.

Jul 18, 2012, 11:13 AM
