What was Philpot's BCS scenario with a 2 loss Clemson team?

i missed that part of his show today. I don't see it but he claimed that there was a scenario where we could possibly get a BCS bid even if we lost 2 games this year. (thats taking into consideration that FSU wins thursday night and the cocklovers beat us). He claimed it wasn't too far out of the scope of reality.

Didn't hear the show, and I started to question the comment, then I looked at the numbers.

Its beginning to look like there won't be a non-AQ team, 2 SEC, ND, 1 Big East, 1 Big 12, 1 Big Ten, 1 Pac 12, and 1 ACC are assured IMO.

So that's 8 spots. 2 open, split between Big East, Big 12, Big 10, Pac 12, and ACC.

For a 2 loss Clemson team to get in, I think the National Championship would have to be K-State v Bama, and the break down would look like this:

Champ: Bama v. K-State
Rose: Ore v. Neb
Fiesta: OU v. ND
Orange: FSU v. Louisville
Sugar: UGA v. Clemson

I can see a 2-loss Clemson team staying in striking distance over a 3 loss USC team, or anyone from the Big East or Big 10.

Too many different scenarios to list, but I think the key is to have Bama in the Champ game vs. K State or ND for a 2 loss Clemson to have a shot. If Bama isn't in the Champ game, then the SEC will take 2 of 8, rather than 2 of 10, and if Oregon is in the champ game, the Rose will take USC.
