To run routes and create separation.

Truth! Some of the greatest receivers of all time were not fleet of foot.

True enough. Precision is key. Which means the qb, blockers, and wide outs all have to be synchronized. This clearly is not the case.

What is this stuff about separation?

Does a guy have to be wide open now? Isn't that called a busted play?

Exactly … I mean not every play is a wr gonna be open… sometimes you have to throw a guy open or here’s a wild thought , maybe let the wr try to go make a play !? Just watch any game this weekend and you will see catches made that were very tough catches or balls that are 50/50 and even if you don’t win them it makes the defense think a little … defenses don’t have to worry about any type of down field attack o r the middle of the field really. It’s mostly at or behind the LOS or 5 yard range. Perfect example is in the unc game when maye threw that ball across his body to the TE for a TD… sometimes you gotta trust a guy to make a play or worst case it get knocked away. I think we give way too much credit to dbs having lock down coverage on just us I don’t buy it. I’d be willing To guarantee if you watch duke the rest of the year teams will put up a lot of yards on em down the field.

Exactly. How many times did you see DW throw into tight coverage. Mike W was not exactly a burner but they perfected the back shoulder throw. Now DW would have some multiple turnover games, but bottom line is these guys need to throw into tight coverage.

You nailed it. Maye is an elite quarterback. He'll be a starter in the NFL, and probably a pretty good one. That's what elite QBs can do, they trust their arms and are fine throwing a football where only their WR can catch it, and see if they come down with it or not. Our QBs have been timid since TL about doing that. I do think Cade could still be very good. But you don't see him throwing those 50/50 balls you saw with Trevor and Deshaun.
