Good morning, how was everbody's weekend?

Apr 20, 2015, 8:52 AM

Friday: Slept until I wanted to wake up. Moseyed my way up to Charlotte for the Blackberry Smoke show. I had ample time to get there so I was in no particular hurry, even still I didn't care for folks being in my way. Got to town around 4, had a Stone Enjoy By at VBGB. Celtic would have been proud, I was doing a great job of pacing until it came time to go meet some other folks for a bit of a tailgate before my unfortunate looking friend (she didn't bring the hot friend) and the RH crew showed up. RH crews shows up. Lower octane beer flows, go to show, show is awesome as always. Merc table wins again.

Saturday: Got up earlier than normal to attempt Record Store Day. I pass the store I'm aiming for and see just a massive amount of people. I don't know if they were in line or hanging out. About the time I realize I have picked a bad place to park, Shorty

says he is at a record store and they have plenty of copies. He is awesome enough to pick one up for me. The shipping cost will be less than the parking ticket. Bought some Schlitz at Frugal's. Saturday night involved the roller derby with the RH family. If you have never been to one of these bouts, you should check it out. Great people watching to go with the competition.

Sunday: The rains came. Driving back got a bit treacherous, but I survived.

Frietag: Worked and interviewed some candidates for an open position which will report to me. No hotties, one awesome candidate and she is around 50 and a grandmother. Weird that she would fit so well. Went shopping for baby crap (not actual crap, just more stuff for babies) and ate at Jason's Deli where I had to take my son out after 3 minutes due to him being a ########. I ate a meatball sub in 4 bites, TXTF would be impressed.

Samstag: Woke up, went to South Point High School for the Come-See-Me Half Marathon. Being that I was undertrained and a little overweight for distance running, I had low expectations. I just wanted to finish around 1:45 and not shiit my pants. I finished 5th overall at 1:40:24. Probably my second fastest half marathon. Maybe 3rd fastest. Went to Nishie G's for brunch and then home for naps and to watch Arsenal squeak out an FA Cup Semi-Final win against Reading. Thank Tom for Sanchez and their keeper making a crucial mistake. Saturday night I went to my parents house to sit with my 90 year old grandmother who just had back surgery. We watched Jeopardy...I beat her but it is probably due to her being on percosets. My dinner consisted of a snack-pack, kids chicken fingers and tator tots. A solid meal for a 5 year old.

Sonntag: Went to a friends church to see their kid baptized and went to Bethelwoods afterward to eat with the family. He made BBQ and it was good. The pond at Bethelwoods breached the spillway due to the rain so me and the boy went tromping through the woods in church clothes. Momma didn't like that too much but we stayed rather clean. We rode around and surveyed the rain damage. Went to Publix for groceries and got caught in the worst of the storm.

Typical Weekend.

Friday: had training, went to a local HS recruiting girls for our club. Ran back to catch my son's match against crosstown rival. Won in a PK shootout at the end, after Son of MauldinT accumulated another yeller card. Ate Italian. My Friday rules over yours.

Saturday: Had a 5K and daugher's club game, both canceled due to RAINPOCALYPSE. Weather cleared by noon. Watch Chelsea make everything right in the world by beating ManU.....again. Went shoe shopping, fell asleep in chair, somehow ended up in bed. My Saturday would be in the 50th percentile of yours

Sunday: Up early, drove the the capital city, for a coaches meeting through the worst rain I have ever seen. Saw a car flipped over in the opposite lane, rescuers on site, pretty much scared the tdrake out of me. Came back, lazed around all afternoon, canceled training because unending rain. Ate fried hamburger steak. Aside from the hamburger steak, my Sunday was probably in the 10th percentile of yours

Friday: Drove down to the beach. Picked up pizza for dinner and started a case of Miller Lite. Red's cousin and cousin's boyfriend arrived at the beach. Cousins boyfriend and I finished the case of beer that night while we all played cards against humanity.

Saturday: Woke up and cooked breakfast. Ran 7 miles. Went to liquor store and bought more beer. Played cornhole and sat by the fire for most of the afternoon. Cooked brauts and had potato salad for dinner.

Sunday: Woke up and cooked breakfast. Drove home from the beach. Ran 4.5 miles in mud and through a culvert that was at least knee deep in water. That was fun. Watched the race when it finally came on. Had grilled cheese and soup for dinner.

Weekend was pretty #### good

Apr 20, 2015, 10:10 AM

Friday: Friends from Greenville were in town and we met up at a bar after work and had a few drinks. They came back to Hoboken that evening for dinner with my family. We hit an Indian joint in town and it was freaking delicious. BYOB also made the restaurant enjoyable. THey came back to the house after dinner and we had some delicious beers and a glass of Jeffersons.

Saturday: I woke up and headed to Target to get a few items for the week. Trip was a success and I checked out < $60. A different set of friends were in town Saturday and it was just a beautiful day. We packed up a cooler with undercover mixed drinks and set out for a park on the Hudson River over looking NYC. Kids came with and they set abut playing in the park and the adults got a seat on the grass and started to partake in drinking. Was out there for probably 3-4 hours. After that - my wife and younger kid went back to the house and the remainder of my friends and my eldest daughter ventured out to a bar. My kid enjoyed hanging out like an adult and playing darts. There was also a dog there for us to pet. Walked back home, got pizza for dinner, and our friends headed to their hotel in NYC. Later that night, we (sans kids) all got back together at the Blind Tiger for a night of proper drinking. I brought 4 beers from my cellar for us to share with the bartenders and friends/ There were 7 of us and we were there for about 3 hours and our tab was $60!! It's good to know the bartender. We paid the $60 tab and tipped $60. Still got out of there for waaaaaaaaay less than what we drank. Didn't get too drunk which was good.

Sunday: Woke up and my sister and brother in-law watched the kids as my wife and I went out on our bikes. We rode 24 miles up and down the Hudson River taking in views of Hoboken, Jersey City, The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Port Liberte, Liberty State Park, among other things. Weather was perfect at about 60 degrees and no wind. Got back home, ate lunch, went to grocery store. Got back and took my youngest child out for another bike ride. She rides on a seat behind my bike and we went for about 6 miles. Come home, eat dinner, watch TV, Habs win, go to sleep.

Weekend was awesome.

Apr 20, 2015, 10:35 AM

Friday was non-exciting #2KidsLife

Saturday started early as I had to be out the door to avoid street closures for a 5K running through my neighborhood. Went over to Lawrenceville to run in the Family Promise Bed Race charity run. That's me on the right.

Bed race was fun. 200 yard sprint pushing a bed, our two time trials were 34.41 and 34.11 seconds. Our combined time put us second and we got blown away in the finals by the winner. Would have loved to have seen the adult division winner run off against the youth division winner (a bunch of teenagers that ran their time trials 2 seconds faster than any other team out there).
daughterof-'s LAX game was cancelled (something about a week of rain causing the field to be flooded, ankle-deep in some spots). Got home, had a nap, crappy Messican for dinner and went to bed early.

Sunday was Church then over to a charity poker game for the afternoon. Game started wicked late. Felt like they nickel-dimed just about everything. "Oh, I know you paid $100 to play in this tourney, but if you want any of the food, it's a minimum $10 donation." "Oh, you want a beer that someone donated for the event? $5 for a 12 ounce paper cup." Ended up using my one rebuy early (guy raised pre-flop, I called with Q10 suited. Flop came Q 10 7, he bet big, I called. Turn came 9, he moved all in, I called, he showed QQ. I had him covered, but was crippled). Finished 12 out of 30, missed the final table. Oh well.
Got home just after dinner, found out that sonof- decided to act like a moron for wifeof- so I got handed him: "He's all yours." Lucky for me, it was bath and bed time. "You need to ask mommy if you deserve dessert tonite." "No, buddy, mommy said you need to get to bed. No extra stories tonite." And when he did get to bed, *boom* out like a light. Watched last week's GoT and the end of the race, crashed in bed around 11:00.

Not a bad weekend. Ate too much, didn't run enough.

Got allsum seat at table right in front of stage area. Ordered food, drank beers and talked to others that were sitting with/around me. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit came out about 12:30 and did a sound check, left, came back at 12:45 and started the gig. Place was packed, people were standing 4-5 deep, there were people in the record store and even in the parking lot. He played for about 40 minutes, he acted like he would have stayed all day if they didn't have to hit the road to Cootlumbia in time to make sound check.
