This crap has been around since the game began. You better know everything you can about your opponent and if you recognize that they are calling you still have to react immediately with the correct personnel and they have to know exactly what to do. Keep nailing that jello to the wall, it will stay up there at some point.

If you are going to stand there like statues for 25 seconds, looking at the sideline for marching orders, then just go back to using a huddle. Just standing around looking lost is a total waste of time and especially rough on a 300 lb. guy who is already down in his stance. Makes no sense!

you just can’t do it via illegal scouting. People have really coined this as sign stealing but that’s not what the issue is. They broke the rules by in person scouting of future opponents. That’s a big difference from someone saying someone else is “stealing signs”. There is a reason coaches cover their mouths, shield playcalls with grads holding towels. That’s to prevent game footage shared or on TV or ingame sign stealing. Teams are allowed to try to figure that out just like reading personnel on the field or alignments. You aren’t allowed to in person scout future opponents though.

tickets are legal to buy for anyone.
Any sign stealing or scouting anyone can do from either film or observation should be legal. Getting inside info (like that Wake scandal from a few years ago) or trying to observe/film practice or intercept confidential correspondence should be illegal.
