their DC runs a very similar scheme to what kevin steele ran, which also means it is very complicated for players to understand and gain full knowledge of in their first season under this scheme. I give us an advantage in that category this go round. Maybe we'll be the ones scoring again and again instead of WV

i agree that coming from the NFL can be a detriment, but BVG was successful as DC at UGA and has more experience than BV, which is why I give him the nod. it's not a big gap, but what truly makes the defense work is not the x's & o's but the jimmy's and joe's.

at the LB and DB position. Also they really want to run the ball in a pro style offense. That being the case the DL and LB will need to step up but I've heard good things about both groups and Venables is comfortable with them both. it's the CB position that we have concerns about.

Say you are kiding so people want think you're stupid. I'll take Dabo anyday over cheeese ik. What has he done. Yes he won a NC with a bought stud QB and different OC and DC. Coaching changes aren't over at Aubum yet.

been coach for 26 years, starting w/ being on Danny Ford's staff at Clemson in the late 80's. he was a proven DC at Auburn & Texas. granted he didn't do much at Iowa State and his NC w/ Cam may be tainted, he still has more experience than Dabo to be fair. he also has master's degree from Clemson so I wouldn't knock him. he also played for Charlie Pell.
