Want to show some love to Benedict and Limestone FB

The NCAA Division II playoff bracket was announced today and for 1st time since 2016, 2 Palmetto State schools have made the bracket. And those 2 did so making history in the process.

Benedict College had an incredible year, winning their 1st conference title with a win over traditional HBCU power Tuskegee in the SIAC Championship. The win secured the Tigers their 1st playoff berth and 1st undefeated regular season. Keeping with the 1-theme, Benedict is also the top seed in the Super Region 2 bracket. A good showing or some favorable results in other games (CIAA champ Fayetteville State and CIAA North co-champ Virginia Union also made the playoff) may give Benedict their 1st HBCU national championship as well.

Limestone College was also selected for their 1st playoff appearance in the team's 9-year existence. The Saints had their 1st winning season in school history, which had come off the heels of a winless season in 2021. Limestone was selected despite not winning the SAC - the Saints finished in a 4-way tie for division crown, but Newberry was selected for SAC CG (which the Wolves won). However, Limestone had H2H wins over the Wolves and Mars Hill (who also qualified for SAC CG), which helped them slip in.

Best of luck to these 2 schools, hope they represent the state of South Carolina with pride!

that game was a milestone in another way . . . It was their first time beating the guys from Tuskegee . . . EVER!!!
