Why is he so mysterious? I don't know anyone that actually knows anything about the guy and where he came from. Where did he go to college? Where is he from? His radio background etc.
Obviously I'm not saying he should reveal every secret on air but the other WCCP hosts are fairly open about their past and we know about them. Walt is basically a masked man in comparison. And what is weird is that I have heard a variety of rumors about all of it too.

My theory is he is from Connecticut and went to some small school up there. He has also mentioned how he used to a reptile handler

I mentioned in another thread that I regularly travel to Greenville, SC and catch him on the radio when I can. If nothing else, he's interesting to listen to. I Googled his name to try to find out where he's from (obviously not from the south). I got crickets.

From what I've pieced together the origins are up north somewhere maybe Connecticut but family moved to maybe Florida maybe when he was in high school. Seems I heard Tennessee somehow mixed in there as well. So being from Connecticut would explain his ties to north east teams (uconn fan mets fan patriots fan) I guess Kansas St and Georgia tech are just because he likes the coaches.

Mickey started giving him an entire hour on his show once a week where he would pick games. This was around 2003-04. Wccp had some major shakeups in a couple year period where hosts were routinely being moved around, fired, hired....there line up would change on almost a weekly basis. He was hired about 10 years as a host I think primarily with his ties to Mickey. He had no prior radio hosting experience, but did have some has a contributor to various recruiting outlets. His main job before is kind of sketchy but it had something to do with supplying pet snakes and writing about reptiles. What publications, I dont know. He says he from northern tenn. bc there is no such thing has northern tenn. Evidently he wanted to avoid the yankee stigma in the south. He was basically a sports fan that got a show. Hes actually done a good job compared to the personalities wccp had before him.
