That wasn't Clemson ROTC by the way.

I do actual booing. This is similar to what I heard from my seats that are about as far from where this video was shot as you can get other than the upper deck. No one around me in Section UH was booing - I mean no one. But, I could hear a distinct murmur coming from across the way.

I will give these folks the benefit of the doubt - that they had never been in the military, weren't familiar with the oath, and were simply surprised by its content. On the eve of an intensely debated, very close election, they let politics cloud their judgment for a moment. I really didn't hear - in this video or in person - the sort of lusty boos described in the media or on the Internet.

That said, it is distressing to read ostensibly sober posts on here somehow trying to justify booing the mentioning of the president (any president) when Clemson students are taking their oath to defend their country. There IS NO justification for it - I just don't think it happened to any appreciable degree (maybe a couple hundred moans, groans and boos out of a crowd of 80,000).

Even if you hate Obama so much you feel compelled to scream about it to the top of your lungs, you may want to just appreciate this as a Tiger fan: Obama will get at least 75% of the vote of current Clemson players, at least 66.6% of the vote of Clemson players since 1977 (when we really started playing again), and a majority of the vote of all Clemson players. So, in that context, maybe Clemson football games and fan boards aren't the best venues for expressing your hatred.
