Venables tone of voice compared to Kevin Steele...

Oct 23, 2013, 10:08 AM

In listening to Venables, you can tell from the tone of his voice that he is viscerally distraught over what happened Saturday night. He wasnt' trying to make light of the situation, saying "it's all fixable, and we'll get it fixed." Just straight talk, no games, just reality and what MUST change.

While I don't like the result from Saturday, I do like Venables approach.

I wonder if Venables would be well served by a quick trip out to Danny's place for a little pep talk for the next few practices??

Only if he needs a pep talk about farming....

Danny hasn't coached in sixteen years. The competition, the times, and the game have all passed him by.

I disagree that coaching has passed Danny by...maybe the X's and O's of new scheme's but not motivation and toughness...Danny taught both in bucket fulls .

Danny kept 22 college kids playing at a high level and on

the same page for 12 straight games. That hasn't changed a bit. Our problem isn't x's and o's. It's coaching and motivation, and not getting caught up in your success. And Danny knows how to handle that better than Dabo.

Danny Still coaches

He's been doing the South Carolina All Star Game in particular. It takes SC college kids that grew up here and play college football. Ellington, Hopkins, and a lot of our other guys played last year on Danny's team.

And he hadn't been drinking and wasn't slurring his words..

and could articulate a sentence. He's not going to hammer the AD to erase the video or have a reporter fired for not writing to his satisfaction. GFY Coot

What are you talking about?

Oct 23, 2013, 11:00 AM

GFY Coot? Where did you get that from? I think the post was just saying Venables had the right attitude after the game. He acknowledged the defense didn't get the job done and they didn't. Don't think there is really a question of that. Steele would have some how tried to turn it around that the defense acutally had a decent game and that we shouldn't have expected to stop FSU's offense. Like he said that the reason why the opposing quarterbacks had +100yds rushing is because the secondary was doing so well defending the pass.

I think "viscerally distraught," might be over his head.***

Steele made excuses for 3 years.

I like Venables. I blame him the least of all our coaches.***

I don't think that's always positive

Oct 23, 2013, 11:17 AM

Dabo and his crew are so positive that when things go bad they are shocked, don't know what to do.

For those who laughed outright at my opinion than Venables was not the answer....not a step up.....well, gave up 51 in the Valley. Now what do you think? What does tone of voice matter? He didn't get in done at OK...and I doubt he gets it done at CU.
