Venables is a loyal assistant coach. Would he leave?

Nov 8, 2015, 1:31 PM

His history with Bob Stoops was he passed up head coaching jobs because he's a loyal guy. If he loved working with Stoops, just imagine how much he loves and is most likely even more loyal to Dabo. Would he leave for a head coaching job at this point?

would you take a position with another company for a 1 to 2 million dollar raise?
He has ties to the area, but money like that, guaranteed for 5 years, certainly is something to consider.

Venables will be the next coach at KS once Snider decides to hang it up.

want to be a HC. Sometimes folks need to be true to themselves and do what they are good at.

Also, I personally would stay as an assistant in a great program rather than jump off to be a head coach at a random mediocre program.

Of course it does come down to money, and if someone offers him enough guaranteed money it would be tough to stay.

He can afford to hold out for the right Job. We are loaded

Most of this defense is coming back next year and he know this team will be competing at the highest level again. I also expect him to get a heck of a pay raise to make leaving even harder.

If we win the National Title and is offered a great job you cannot blame a guy for leaving to better himself. He won't have to take a s hit-hole job so he can be selective
