Update on my jerk boss situation.

So after he got in trouble for saying I couldn’t take this past Friday off FBcooch was right when he said he would be on me like flies on shiat.

I come into a champagne meeting a little late 2 Fridays ago. Granted this was an optional meeting to taste high dollar champagne. He writes me up for being late even though the meeting was optional and many people didn’t even show up.

So as my wife is the director of compliance for a corporation she went to work writing up a response to HR after she read through the company handbook. Citing specific company policies on bullying, hostile work environment etc etc. all the things that HR hears and it screams lawsuit. We went whole hog on this dude with compliance law.

He calls me today to let me know he put his resignation in, which I assume is a forced resignation by upper management and HR. I haven’t heard yet but I’m sure the write up will be dropped.

Reminds me of the new attorney who reported me to HR at a law firm

I was the file clerk (fresh out of college). I did filing for 16 VERY active attorneys, each with well over 100 active files/cases. I would place all new filing in the front of the file folders for that case, so next time the atty opens it, the new stuff is up front, and they can arrange it in the file however they see fit.

This guy had previously complained that I didn't open the file, look for the appropriate place in each file to attach each new document. HR explained to him that was not my call as different attorneys arrange their files differently. ANYWAY....

One day he's missing an APA submission, that's late. He runs to HR claiming I misfiled it. I spent a good 3-4 hours making sure that wasn't the case. APA submissions are usually a good 20+ pages and are the largest things I usually filed, so I remember them pretty well. Told him I don't recall seeing an APA for that file, plus I checked his other files, AND 15 other lawyer's active files, and not there either.

HR lady called me in and I explained it simply isn't in his files, or anything else that's active. HR lady did some digging and found they had a temp paralegal the day that APA was supposed to be produced, and they didn't do it. So there was nothing for me to misfile.

Dude calls me into his office and apologized a few days later. It was weak and obviously coerced by HR. I didn't really care, but he was gone in less than 6 months. He's now a customer of mine, lol.
