It could have been a brown rice diet using only chop sticks.

and if you read the nutritional labels on back of products (please do!) you will see that mfgs ADD more sugar..

which is reason over 70% of Americans are over weight (40% Obese) along with abundance of food and gluttonous appetites.

This metabolic weight health problem sadly caused too many of the 1,000,000 Americans to succumb to the Covid virus that started in China & spread.

Also, Americans as a whole are illy equipped physically to walk fast or run nor less defend this country within its borders if need be in a ground war involving survival.

that fat in our diet is the problem, when in reality, it is the sugar and highly processed carbs. I went low carb one year ago, with the goal of losing 30 lbs and lowering my A1c from 6.5. I cut out all sweets and starchy and processed carbs. I ate more fatty meats like baby back ribs, smoked wings, bacon and hamburger steak, than I have ever eaten.

in less than three months, I had lost 35 lbs and lowered my A1c to 5.6! Even after starting back eating some ice cream and occasional sweets the last 3 or 4 months, I have maintained the weight and last month, my A1c was down to 5.1.

By the way, I'm 73 years old, so even us old farts can learn new, more healthy habits!

In April of last year I was told I had type II diabetes. I weighed 214.5 pounds and was told I needed to change my carb filled diet. I ordered an inexpensive paperback book on Amazon by Dennis Pollock called 60 ways to lower your blood sugar. I cut out all of the usual suspects, potatoes, rice, pasta, and bread as well as any sweets. It sounds terrible but I’ve learned that a high protein and high fat diet really works. I eat bacon, sausages, eggs, cheese, most all vegetables, but there are exceptions on the vegetables and fruits you have to be careful of. In 4 months I went to 184.5 pounds. A1C is in the normal zone. I’m sure many on here already know about the type of diet I’m on but coming from a 65 year old Dude who loves every sort of food, it’s not that difficult. My wife says my diet just doesn’t seem fair, to lose 30 pounds and eat steaks, salads, chicken, etc. I went back for a follow up visit with my doctor after 4 months and she couldn’t believe it. She’s a little overweight and I told her about that book I read and she ordered one too.

Not to be judgmental, but I do the grocery shopping for my wife and I and I’m the main cook because I’ve always loved cooking and I can’t help to notice what folks buggy’s are filled with. Soda’s, potato chips, bread, ice cream, etc. I love all of that stuff too but I just want to say mam/sir, you’re killing yourselves. All I’m saying is that there’s an alternative and if I can do it, anyone can. I would say just my 2 cents worth but I think my essay here is about 10 bucks worth 😁

Carnivore or keto for me. All inflammation leaves your body and the aches and pains go away fast. Unlimited energy, mind is sharper, etc.

I started my own version two weeks ago to help with inflammation, joint pain, and a foggy head. I am only eating meat, vegetables, fruit, nuts, and no carbs. Have totally cut out white flour, white sugar, and tea. Tea really aggravates my arthritis. Only drinking black coffee, which I have for years, and water. Have also cut down on portions, leaving the table still a little hungry. I feel so much better and have a clear head now with a lot more energy. Trying to lose a few pounds too, have already lost 13 in two weeks. Fast food and processed food are making the medical community rich!

Thank you for taking the time to share your message and your success. It’s a downright sin that our medical community does not understand how sugars and refined carbohydrates are the single biggest reason for our obesity and disease in the American population. Great job.

Eat whatever you want as long as you can put it in your mouth with chopsticks.

Yep, eating lower amounts of carbs (including fruits which are fructose high), medium amount of protein and good healthy fat foods are the way to success.

Loving my MCT oil, walnuts, avocados, canned sardines & good grade of Olive oil sprinkled on everything..along with Salmon, chicken, select veggies, filtered water, no Cow milk or breads or surprisingly no Oatmeal since it has lectins which can cause leaky gut or intestinal inflammation.

Oh, supplement as needed,

Plus, at 83 I do light floor exercise every day..door stretch bungees between the 3 days of light weights to retain muscle & bone mass..and jog in place on carpet in sneakers while watching You.Tube videos of subjects I like so to get at least daily 5000+ steps for cardio.

GoTiGERS..Jeep ROCKing!

Try to avoid the whites. Potatoes, pasta, rice and bread. There ok on occasion just not every meal. Sugary drinks are killers also.
Walking and calisthenics along with lite weight lifting are huge. We lose so much muscle as we age. Stay flexible and work on balance.
Try not to eat 3 hours before bed time.
Eat a high protein dinner.

vegetable oils! The more I learn, the more I'm convinced that most vegetable oils, more properly called seed oils, should carry a warning label similar to that on cigarettes! Stick with olive oil or butter!
