there may be a few who are not remembered fondly, but that is overwhelmingly the exception, rather than the rule. My own mom has been up in Heaven since 2005. She loved to play the piano and the organ, and had one of each in our house that I grew up in. She played completely different styles. She liked to "honky-tonk" the piano, but she would play more reverently on the organ. It's almost like you could tell what mood she was in, according to which instrument she picked to play.

My second Ma has also been gone to Jesus now for coming up on a 2nd Mother's Day, as my wife reminded me yesterday. She made almost 98 years on this earth, but physically, it was beyond her time to go when she finally shuffled off this mortal coil. It was an actual blessing when she was no longer in pain, and her mind was whole again in a new spiritual body. Happy Mothers Day, Sissy.

I pray for all those who are grieving this week. Several of us on here have lost family members or close friends this week. May the Lord hold you in the palm of His Healing Hand, and help you through this time of loss.

I continue to pray for the world. Man has shown his ignorance, and nature has shown its power, all at the same time this week. A reckoning is coming, on both fronts. May we survive when it does. In Jesus name, I pray,

Amen.

Fellas, today is for MOTHERS. And there is only one kind of mother..A human is a mother. The rest are mares,dams,does,b!thches,sows....etc.

They do become like a child, so that ESPN guy makes perfect sense to me.

You are NOT the mother to a dog. Sorry. I've had them. Trained my own setters

The world has gone mad, Spud. I grew up on a farm and we had many dogs and other animals. I would say I even loved some of them. But not like I love my children or loved my Mom (she’s been gone since 1995. I was 32 years old when she passed).

The dogs lived outside and played a role on the farm, mostly watchdogs, but we did have a border collie that would herd cows and raised beagles for rabbit hunting.

I heard a comedian one time talking about how dogs have gone from wild animals to domestic farm animals to indoor pets to now being considered family and sleeping with people in their beds. It was an interesting bit.

That's pretty cool! My Mom went on to Heaven in 2018. She played the piano and organ at church... I could always tell her mood if I walked in for a visit and heard her playing those hymns... I really miss that lady. God bless all the mamas

So did my Mom. Played piano and organ and Daddy led the singing at every service throughout my childhood. Many a time we came flying down the road from a Sunday picnic so Mama could be there to play the organ.

My parents were in their late 30s when I was born and they both smoked and died from emphysema way too early. So I was only 32 when my Mom passed in 1995. Dad had passed 6 years before her. Seems like forever ago. It just kills me to hear people complain about having to deal with their aging parents. They have no idea how I wish I could talk to Mom and Dad again. My Dad had a younger brother who I looked at as a surrogate for a lot of years but he passed away almost 2 years ago at the age of 92. Now there is no one from that generation left on either my Mom’s or Dad’s side of the family.
