Thank you for your service! Our country would not be free if it wasn’t for you. To all who died defending our country we owe them a big thank you. Happy Memorial Day TNet.

Nice gesture and I don’t want to be that guy but…Memorial Day is about those that lost their lives in service. My son is currently serving and is quick to point this out as he should.

Like I said I don’t want to be that guy, but it seems like Memorial Day is evolving into Veterans Day.

You did and that’s why I hesitated to reply. Sometimes print is not a good means of communication. I do know the living that has served or currently serving appreciate the gestures on Memorial Day. I’ve also talked to the same ones that say they haven’t earned that recognition on Memorial Day.

Hope that makes sense and I’m explaining my viewpoint better.

Your post was fine, as it is never an inappropriate timer to honor veterans, but as Bowl Hunter noted, and you acknowledged, this day is for those that made the ultimate sacrifice. I think the reason that many veterans deflect recognition on this day is because we knew or had men in our units that did not come home fro our conflicts and feel that we do not deserve the same recognition on this particular day.

Thanks for remembering.

I disagree that Memorial Day is becoming a Veterans Day. Those who lost their lives will never be forgotten. It would be great if family members of those who fell in battle could share stories about their family members or loved who lost their lives defend the freedom of the United States as well as other countries. I think for some it’s more difficult to talk about those who lost their lives. But if we knew just a little more about them I feel certain they would be mentioned more. And certainly recognized in a very respectful way.

Like many Veterans have stated the real Heroes gave their lives for so many people. It’s very sad that so many young lives have been lost in war. Many will forever be grateful to those men and women who made that ultimate sacrifice serving in our Military, defending our freedoms, defending you and me from a type of government we do not want. We cherish those freedoms and everyday many remember those fallen soldiers: men and women. Memorial Day is about recognizing Current, Past and Deceased Military personnel who served or is currently serving our country.

I have read many post on social media that mention and honor those who made that ultimate sacrifice. It’s my opinion that all those who has served or is serving in are Military are being Honored and being remembered on Memorial Day just as well as those fallen soldiers . In fact we should Honor all of our Military personnel everyday including those who are no longer with us.

🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Many keep the memory of those men and women who did make the Ultimate Sacrifice in their thoughts and prayers !!! But we are also Grateful for those willing to step up and take the fallen soldiers place. 🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I mean this from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate your service and sacrifice. Also the families, I respect all that you give to allow me to live in this great country. I do agree that this a day for those who paid with their lives, but never a bad time to say thank you, because we do not know what tomorrow will bring and conflict and lives lost may be around the corner. So I will say Thanks in advance, because I truly do appreciate all who have served and am greatly humbled by those who gave all.
