Hope he comes back for his Sr year to run it back, but if his stock shot up to the 1st rd I can't blame him for leaving. His draft projections have been all over the place...from 1st rd to 4th

And if so, would have still been playing. Big mistake, taking him out with one last out for complete game win, in my opinion!

This is the only thing I wish Bakich had done differently.
The way he managed the rest of that game was incredible to watch.

No it wasn’t. He combined one f up with another immediately after taking Caden out he put him at 1B and took Billy Amick (our best hitter) out of the lineup and his spot came up a whopping 3 more times that game. Bakich managed terribly the last 2 games. Last game of the year he’s pinchitting Starbuck for Blackwell and letting Olenchuk bat 😂 he overcoached and choked the season away

I don't mind that they took him out after 2 chances to get the final out, my only issue was putting Ammons in to face the big righty, had we went with Hughes or Garris there...I think its over. It was just to perfect, everything went Tenn way after that 8th inning.

Hughes and Garris work down in the zone. Denton has a low swing. He struggles catching up to high fastballs and that’s where Ammons is successful. His fastball works in the upper part of the zone because it has induced vertical break. It’s not always about lefty lefty or right righty matchups. He executed the first 2 strikes perfectly but missed the last fastball

Miss is an understatement, he threw 3 straight down in the zone. He could've worked anywhere else other than down and in, Keeping it outside and/or up should've been all he seen. Poor execution ahead in the count in that 9th all together.

Yeah the first 2 strikes were up in the zone and that last one was just too low right in Dentons swing path. Very unfortunate

So well deserved. Congratulations Caden Grice! The turn around in Grice is such an indication of the kind of coach we have in Bakich. I think this will help recruiting as much as the turn around in mid-season.
