he just didn't catch passes or touch as many kick returns
I've wanted Mafah to be the James Davis and Will to be CJ so badly but they never had the play calling chance

I never understood what happened to JD in the NFL. I always felt like he was cut out for the NFL, but somehow he got a handfull of carries and then disappeared. Anyway, always one of my favorites - great to have him back in Tigertown.

He injured is shoulder in practice (at least that is what I remember) and I think he had a problem with it afterwards.

he caught staph infection in Cleveland and sued it was like a class action deal. Got blackballed after that

I was never as excited for a recruit commit as I was for Spiller. Haven't been since either though the Lawrence commit was close

Without JD we would have lost to Kentucky in the Peach bowl. I think Tommy West coached that game.

With JD AND Spliller we lost to Kentucky in the Music City Bowl thanks to that idiot Rob Spence.
I think Kentucky's run defense was ranked #110 that year, and we decided to throw the ball 60 times that day.

I personally believe that James Davis started a trend that would not have happened otherwise.
He came back for his senior year when few expected him to do so.
Since then CJ Spiller, Christian Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant, Travis Etienne, and a host of others have thrilled us for their 4th year!

We had never seen a RB go out of his way to hand the ball to the referees after the play like Davis.

JD had lots of great games but his first against Texas A&M is the one I’ll always remember. He willed us to a win on that last drive.
