Our defense the past couple of seasons has been good but no where near what were used to. The defense had enough talent to most certainly be a big player in the draft this year and will again next year.

Our offense was a different story and might not have a player drafted. We have got to upgrade our recruiting on the offensive side of the ball if we are going to continue to be on top of the ACC and be in the hunt for a Playoff spot. We will find some of those answers when Spring practice starts.

Plenty will get drafted next year if they dominate like

Davis being in the 300's is laughable. That only has me questioning the legitimacy of whoever draft board this is. I believe he is a top 2 round tightend but especially top 3 rounds. I think he can be a very productive pro in the right system.

He should be higher than 300s, but no way he goes first two rounds. It's really, really hard to guess which tight end will make the jump the easiest, so teams only go early for tight ends if they're no miss. Davis might shock everyone at the combine, but in today's NFL, where they want a super-athletic tight end capable of getting separation, I think he's a tough pick in the first three rounds. His last 40 was a 4.75, which is very slow for a receiving tight end, and he's not big enough to make up for that in the NFL.

Mayer is indisputably the best tight end in the draft, and only a few draft boards have him first round. If you're a GM, are you really going to take Davis over Mayer, Musgrave (4.5 40), or Washington (4.6 40 and also much bigger and stronger)? I see Davis as at the bottom of the top 10. I think he's a well-rounded player who has starting potential, but he's not elite at any one thing like the top 5 tight ends are.

Your spin zone of this isn't working.
