Tigers now and Tigers in the future

Sep 23, 2012, 12:45 PM

I am very proud of the Tigers last night and the way they played. They laid it on the line the whole night and simply ran out of gas against a superior talented and more experienced team. They left everything on the field. FSU has been building for this moment for years while wearing the label of "under achiever" or "poorly coached". It is amazing what years of great recruiting and development can do for a program. We are playing with freshmen and sophomore sat key positions (OL and DL lines) and with large number older players playing new positions. We will face the same discrepancy with South Carolina, but not to the same degree.

Our recruiting and development of existing players will eventually take us to the next tier of great teams. When we play with juniors and seniors playing at every position with small mixing of unbelievably talented sophomores and freshman, then we will play with the national elite and win. Alexander, Adams, Crowder, and a few other targets are necessary for us to move to this goal.

My major concern presently is the defensive secondary and their failure at every measurable trait for that position. Simply, we are not at all talented at that position, but hopefully we will see enough improvement to a very successful season even in the eyes of all of the “always negative posters”.
Go Tigers! Beat the hell out of BC!
