Tiger Basketball

Mar 15, 2014, 12:54 PM

I have painfully watched Tiger basketball for a long time, but now I am VERY PROUD of our team and Brad Brownell. We are on the verge of becoming a national power in round ball to match our football achievement. GO TIGERS!

Where have you been the past decade. OP took us to 3 straight dances and had us a darkhorse to final four one year... We were relevant then... were just trying to get back to that point.

(A bit long):
I too am proud of our basketball team, but I beg to differ on Clemson becoming a national power in B-ball.
As long as UNC/Duke rule the roost,as long as the commissioner remains an alum of one of those schools,as long as the ACC( the league and the officating) continue to be blantantly biased toward the two above mentioned schools,Clemson, and most of the league will continue to play second fiddle in the conference.Beyond that if Clemson is to advance outside of Greensboro to the Big Dance, they have to improve their out of conference win-loss %.That is a must!!!!!
Other than that, our only hope is a change of venue( The Barclay Center in N.Y. is being mentioned) or perhaps the Phillips Arena in Atlanta for the conference tourney because as long as Greensboro continues to host the event UNC/Duke will contiue to hold any/all advantages other than a team like Pitt just being able to outscore them.
Clemson surprised me this season(they really did) but at times they also frustrated me,and I am certain they frustrated a lot of us fans.
The Big Dance was a long shot at best, but hopefully an N.I.T. bid will be of some consolation.
And who knows.Maybe we can hang a banner in Littlejohn. After all didn't the coots hang two of them a few years back!
