First, I do not remember seeing an offensive lineman ever help Charlie up off the ground , not even after a single one of the earth shattering hits he took. It is one thing that 5 OL cannot stop a 3 man rush, but to watch them stand around and watch their QB get the #### knocked out of him, without ever apologizing to him, or just giving him a helping hand , really made my stomach boil after awhile. Every one of those OL need to be running wind sprints tomorrow at 6:00 am until they puke. Every one of them. The second thing was the absolute disconcern by our coaches for Charlie's health and future. There was no learning experience for him in the fourth quarter, except to see just how much punishment his body could take. Bowden and anyone else who had a hand in the decision to keep him out there ought to be ashamed and probably ought to be jack-slapped , at least one good time. It made no sense whatsover and it was brutal to watch. And the third thing was watching several of our receivers conglomerating around Willie in the last half of the fourth quarter, conversing, laughing and smiling, while Charlie was several yards away, spitting out his teeth, and trying to get a bloody nose and lip under control, without one player or trainer there to pat him on the back or at least act like they were giving him the look over. Over the years, I have grown accustomed to bad losses and blow outs, but I have never seen one of our players take such a physical beating for the course of an entire game, like Charlie did tonight, with such a rat's ### attitude by his fellow players and coaches. That has never been Clemson football. Charlie gave it his all tonight , with no help from no one, and he deserved better in the end.
