Thoughts? How did we lose to Usuck?
Jan 7, 2014, 8:53 AM

After seeing the way we punched OSU Friday how did that team lose to the coots, mean I know how but really what happened. I bleed orange but don't think I'm being biased by saying I really feel we were better this season than them.

Unfortunately TO's have a lot to do with a frame of mind.

They don't just happen on their own in isolation, independent of other circumstances, at least .not to the extent we experienced in that game. I believe there was a "determination" advantage that we lacked in November that I would like to see us take hold of again the next time we play.

Clemson stopped itself with turnovers more than the $CU defense did.

6 turnovers, including two lost punts (complete possessions), were CLEARLY the primary reason.
Please stop using words like "we"...it exposes your issues.

And of course, the Tigers shouldn't get credit for a win in the Orange Bowl, because the Buckeyes just "gave it away" with 4 turnovers...OSU was obviously the better team, according to "Tiger logic"! You can't have it both ways, can you? LOL!

Are you trying to be serious, cockstripe?
Jan 7, 2014, 10:14 AM

For one, Clemson turned the ball over twice against Ohio State, and one of those was while going in for a score. That's a net difference of two turnovers.
Two, yes, the turnovers were part of it.
Three, 6 turnovers to none is just a tad different than a net difference of 2. Even a non-educated coot poser can do that math.

Yes, and even a "non-educated coot poser" can see what the rest of the nation (excepting Pickens County, naturally) clearly sees...that South Carolina now has a better football program than Clemson! Ya can't begin to change things for the better, Shanie, until you can face the reality of the situation.

Had them at home last year and couldn't beat them
Face it they were good beat more ranked teams than anyone in the country
Had the chance just like they did and they made it happen,
Have another shot at home next year! The biggest issue is the best Clemson teams in a long time are having to deal with the best FSU teams in a long time and the best USC teams ever. OSU couldnt shake at stick at either of those teams

Spurrier out coached us. 6 TO.
Sc D is still better than ours and SC O plays ball control and still scores a lot.

We did not lose to a unranked losing record Tennessee.
Oky should be ahead of them. Beat the $ec king Alabama.
We did beat a 7th ranked team not 19th ranked team.
$car should have not move up 5 spots maybe 1 or 2.
They would not beat Alabama.

That's what I was thinking, or like Coot fans from years past. CLEMSON LOST. "WE" didn't give them anything, they TOOK IT! Same as when we intercept or cause a fumble, WE TOOK IT!

Got beat by a better team.
Our QB was clutch...
Yours was not.
Our coach > your coach
If you disagree with me...just sort threads by date and you will see a lot of Clemson fans wishing Tajh was gone and Dabo would be fired.

There was no real evidence the better team won.

that doesn't matter in terms of the 6 turnovers in 2013.

C0cks scored more points than Clemson. Clemson did not give the game away. That is just a stupid excuse. Both teams were on the field that day and the c0cks made fewer mistakes and won the game.

Clemson played tight in two games. They lost those two games. Clemson had more talent than South Carolina this year. Tight players make mistakes. Mistakes are tough to overcome against good teams.

This post brought out the coot intruders didn't it, but those who say Clemson DIDNT best themselves is delusional. We were more elite this year period. Watch not every turnover but almost all of them were not caused ny thier defense but our offense playing poorly.

Which in either way proves SC was better. Geez. Until we grasp the fact that those things are part of being better. We stand to repeat it over, and over.
I say man up and fix those problems to become a better team.

who did clemson beat this year other than over rated GA. and O.ST.....
Carolina beat 2 BCS bowl winners and the cotton bowl winner as well as other bowl winners.
We are #4 in the nation ...clemson is #8.
By the way we beat you on the field ( 5 in a row with double digits )
Only clemson kool-aid logic can make a statement that clemson is better than Carolina....ya think !!!!

Turnovers
Jan 7, 2014, 10:59 AM

Great teams don't turn the ball over 6 times against anyone. Great quarterbacks don't buckle under pressure constantly. Clem lost again because they were the team committing the turnovers, while the Gamecocks were the team forcing the turnovers. You can't say "if we didn't have the turnovers.." It's part of Clemson's DNA as a football team to choke against the Gamecocks... Just gotta beat us to change that perception.
