Many of the same fans that have been calling for Saban's head the last few seasons are now crying in misery.
Let this be a lesson to those who think it's time for Dabo to go.

For those people disappointed in 2021 to 2023 Clemson football, Complain about how our 2019 recruiting class was inexplicably bad complain about our 5 star recruiting misses with DJU and others.
But please, please be grateful that Dabo Swinney is our coach, and that he brought to us a legendary six year run with great football through national championship playoff appearances and two national championships, and he did it without having embarrassingly humiliating baggage as seen with UGA now. Dabo did it without getting embarrassing, recruiting violations on the front page at ESPN.

You can be grateful he’s our coach and still complain that he’s made a few bad hires and dragged his feet regarding the portal. Most of us who see these mistakes don’t want Dabo to go anywhere, just want him to make some relatively small changes. But there’s a group on here that likes to think anything other than blind loyalty is akin to wanting him fired…

Everyone keeps talking about the use of the portal. I think what everyone has said about the tampering and the buying players is true since FSU just loaded the boat with transfers and got caught up in rules violations. So maybe he has tried to use the portal just not willing to break rules to use it and that is why we keep missing rather than what people say he is not trying to use it.

That school has made some really bad hires in the past, and they wandered in the wilderness for a long time before Saban, but there are some home runs to be had if they make the right call this time.

Thankfully Dabo pulled us out of our own 20-year rut after Ford. It is extremely difficult to replace a legend and achieve anywhere near the success for some time following, regardless of a program's status or resources.

No legit coach should want to follow Saban. Anything less than a National Championship will be deemed a failure.

It's a tough follow. And I believe with NIL and no Saban that recruiting will take a big hit for a few years. Add in Texas and Oklahoma and the 12 team playoff, I think the Alabama dynasty is over. They will be good year after year but will not have the success Saban. He built a machine, and that machine just just lost its engineer.

Yep and if college football stays on its current path I can’t see Dabo hanging around for many more years.
Personally I think every thing is going against everything he believes in as far as how to run a program. People says he isn’t evolving and I’m not sure he really cares to ever evolve. Some call it pride, set in your ways or whatever else, but I believe he feels he is doing things the right way. Whether we agree or disagree is up for discussion but in the end it won’t change anything.

I'm here almost every day. I saw some complaints about Dabo regarding the portal. There might have been a VERY small minority who mentioned more. I'm not even sure if they were serious because real fans would not call for him to leave.
What is this big thing about lecturing fans anyway? It seems to be like a bad "virus" on TNet.

If you get 1k people together, you will run across a small amount who will say the total opposite of what everyone else is thinking. So the “ some wanted Dabo fired “ is no different than any other circumstance in life and has been made too much out of. It’s like if 2 talking heads on ESPN and 1 on FoxSports says Patrick Mahomes has lost his ability to be a solid NFL QB , all of a sudden the twitter talk is “a lot of people are saying Patrick Mahomes sucks”.
Is was obvious changes needed to be made staff wise and certain positions were/are lacking in skill . That’s a far cry from “a lot are people are saying Dabo needs to be fired”.
Alabama isn’t going to fire their next coach if he doesn’t win a National Championship in the first 3 years, now go 9-4 10-3 10-3 then maybe . And honestly with the money spent on the football program/staffs at places like Clemson,Alabama, OSU, Texas, etc that cry will only get louder in the coming years as fans expect championships if a ridiculous amount of $ is being spent. It’s the downside these coaches have to accept when they sign the 50 to 100 million dollar contracts they sign . I assure u Dabo , Sarkisian, Riley all these guys understand this.
