Refs took the heart out of the players

Call for Coach Brownells head, whatever. I watched that game and we were shooting good, playing good fundie BB the first half, refs called 40 some fouls in the second and I believe it zapped our players will. Crucify me all you want but it will beat you mentally to have bullcrep called against you when you are trying to play competitive sports.

They were calling BS on GT also that's not why we lost. We were up by 8 with the ball and less than 2 mins to go. Did not take a good shot the last 4 times we had the ball

Tech was getting their share of fouls. And a lot of them were bull crap. Did it zap their players will? That would be a big fat 'NO'. Care to change your argument?

Failing to set up high percentage shots or get rebounds late in the game doomed us. Just fundamental bball. We choked, nothing more

I'm just pulling some of the pressure off of Brownells head, at least you can admit that the players had a roll in this whatever the reason and it wasn't purely a coaching issue

It was all on the Coaching, the coach dictates clock management The Coach sets up plays after time outs The Coach puts the right players on the floor The Coach has his team ready to face any situation

badb: good points and the coach chose to keep in the man to man D when we were getting manhandled by GT. Apparently he must have forgotten that he played some zone (successfully I might add) in some earlier games this year.

Maybe you missed the fact that when they played zone they got called fouls. I think he was trying to avoid drawing files late and it backfired

They were horrible. Absolutely horrible....sad part is, they get to hide behind the "elder sportsmanship" concept that doesn't allow the players to say a word to them. If this were the NBA they would have been ran out of a job. They were awful and the conference needs to look into the all thoSe foul calls. Majority of them were not legitimate for both teams.

Agreed, if you watched GTech in the final 4 mins all they did was drive
Mar 9, 2016, 10:47 PM
|

And initiate contact and a foul was called every single time there was any touch. And we are still trying to shoot mid range jumpers and threes... Just freakin drive the ball and try to get to the line. That's all they did.

you are right. How do you go from 3 FTs in
Mar 9, 2016, 10:20 PM

one half to 40 FTs in the next? Inconsistent reffing is without a doubt the worst thing about College BB. The 4th foul on Sitte was huge, took away a basket, and put them at the line with no clock expiring. That one call likely decided the game. The 4th on JB was also BS and big. The haters will hate, but the refs were awful the last 8 minutes. So is CBB a good coach if JB doesn't miss the two FTs at the end? Give me a break.
I am not a huge CBB fan but I don't think coaching mistakes cost us the game.
On the bright side I am done with BBall until the Madness no more ACC tourney for me.
