Dabo-Recruiting and Academic Performance

Jun 14, 2012, 8:12 PM

and the hits keep coming.

The Clemson football program was honored Thursday when the NCAA released its Academic Performance Public Recognition Awards.

Fourteen football programs were honored by the NCAA on Thursday. The list included ACC schools Clemson, Duke and Miami (FL). The ACC was the only conference with three schools on the football list. The other institutions honored for football APR scores were Boise State, Middle Tennessee, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Rice, Rutgers, Stanford, Ohio State, Air Force, Navy and Vanderbilt.

I'm equally shocked UNC didn't make the cut.***

Agree 100% This is bigger story than landing #1 recruit

Jun 14, 2012, 9:24 PM

But that may be me.

I'm thrilled we landed the #1 recruit. But let's not forget why Clemson exists (and thrives). It's all about the academics --- and the special something in those hills.

Clemson and the rest of the ACC are far superior academically than other major conferences. And Dabo gets that. I love that Dabo gets that.

GO TIGERS!!!!

Whoever TD's me, I have one question

Jun 14, 2012, 9:27 PM

Did you graduate from Clemson?

That's what I thought.

Go Clemson, "the Harvard of the South"!!!

Seriously, I do love that Clemson has a good academic reputation and we compete in athletics against other great academic institutions.

I could care less about competing against the likes of Mississippi or Arkansas or Mississippi State or other schools that seem to exist more for athletics than academics.

GO TIGERS!!!!

Exactly the kind of coach we need. He cares about these young men, not just as football players.
He's making them better players and better men at the same time.
