The "simplistic" view of Clemson's & FSU's move to the BIG X

The expansion of the Big XII and the possible demise of the ACC as a relevant conference in football gives Clemson and FSU folks a little "food for thought". We will be trading one conference that is piloted in basketball by DOOK and UNC to a conference that is dominated by two schools that are football centric and equally influential: Texas and Oklahoma.

Make no mistake I am for this change of venue, but people need to realize that these are two extraordinarily powerful institutions that will not relinquish their immense power in the conference. Getting to 16 teams in the conference along with Notre Dame and one other (I would love NC State or VT) would dilute this power and influence somewhat, but it will be just as formidable as their football teams.

I am basically for the move for three reasons:
1. More money
2. More money
3. Football survival and relevance on the national level

and did I mention more money?

in the same direction? The stronger the better! Oklahoma and Texas just signed away their 1st and 2nd tier TV rights to the conference. They have no teeth.

They haven't raided the Big East for basketball schools so we know they are serious about football.

That was the point I was trying to make. The BIG XII and Clemson are football schools and that is where we should be.
