Does streeter or Wes deserve

Nov 26, 2022, 7:53 PM

To be fired first? Wes inherited “one of the best defenses” in the nation…. And we never lived up to they hype

Offense has been horrendous all year

I have zero problems with Wes. This years defensive talent has been the worst we've had in a decade.

Marine say what?

This D line is absolutely loaded this year! Yet they have looked soft all season. Someone has to catch the blame for that.

That being said Streeter definitely wins the "I NEED TO BE FIRED" award.

MarineOneClemson® With full respect to most of your posts, this Defense has at least 4 potential #1 picks and lots of 3-4-5 round picks. Murphy, Bresee, Simpson, Carter, and Trotter will be NFL starters and high picks. Tyler Davis and more will play and contribute as well.

Wes defense has been banged up a lot this season.. he’s had probably the worse secondary in 10 years.. he has improved as the year has went and he can’t help it when his offense gives his defense no hope. Streeter just goes away from what’s working to prove to the fans that he can it seems like. He’d rather lose than just do what’s working

Wes had talent, Streeter had DJ.

DJ is insurmountable.

It’s not as much as talent.. I’d understand if we couldn’t run or nothing was working… when you have 200 rushing in a half and up by 9, do the same thing second half. No need to force a struggling qb to throw when your running at will.. Shipley had 9 yards a carry and we completely avoided him for most of the second half

Apologize. He is the idiot that put them there in the first place.

Not their fault

The offensive performance is fire-able

Nov 26, 2022, 8:03 PM

Defense has been good enough. Not great but good enough. I get the point on the talent, but I honestly don’t think we are very talented at all in our secondary and for the most part we have had to restrain our aggressiveness on the line of scrimmage to compensate.

The offense is a freaking mess. We’ve got two 5* qbs throwing to a bunch of 4* receivers.

This whole simplification thing is abject failure. OC’s don’t run complicated offenses because they like headaches, they do it because defenses are tough, but can only prepare for so much. And simple should give you more time to focus on route running, blocking, and catching, but we can’t even do that right.

Wes I think is alright, maybe. I'd at least give him another year and see what he can do. Streeter on the other hand, I am not happy with. We have watched every single one of his QBs regress in talent. Watch TL, he was unstoppable when he arrived, and he was clearly a talented, gifted QB, but his growth... He had a huge slump in his sophomore year, and he still has not played up to his potential since his freshman year (including in the NFL). Beyond that, Streeter's playcall and decision making has been shotty at best. His interviews feel more like a car salesman talking to the reporters than a coach that knows what he is talking about. I would love to see Jeff Scott come back, but I would also love to see us hire someone new from outside the program. There are plenty of hot coaches out there that would not hesitate to come coach our offense. I do fee Dabo needs to make a tough decision, but that is what he gets paid the big bucks for - making these tough decisions. It starts with benching DJ, and is followed by bringing in someone to replace Streeter (or at least co-lead the offense).

Fire both! If you cant make the best talent on team be kind of good then you can't make half talent great!!

Streeter cheated a good year from Clemson

Next year, when the majority of the front 7 experience is gone, will be Wes' true test. Want to see what he can do next season.
As for Streeter...believe that he should be told that Cade will be the starter moving forward and that he has 2 games to show that he can produce an effective offense, with Cade, because Cade will be the starter for the next 2+ years. Consider it a tryout to determine your status as OC for the Clemson football team, moving forward.
