Men's tennis season starts tomorrow

It's time for tennis season once again! The Clemson men will begin their season tomorrow with a double header against Brown and The Citadel starting at noon. Brown is a decent Ivy League team that will be a test while The Citadel is just a warm up.

Returning players:

Spencer Whitaker. Senior. Richmond,VA
Maxwell Smith. Junior. Daniel Island,SC
Matt Pitss. Junior. Greer,SC
Trey Stinchcomb. Junior. Olney,MD


New players:

Max Damm. Graduate transfer from FGCU. Bradenton,FL
Noa Vukadin. Freshman. Zagreb,Croatia
Marko Mesarovic. Freshman. Austin,TX
Kaetan Mehta. Freshman. Edmonton,Canada
Stewart Aronson. Freshman. Vancouver,Canada
Wissam Abderrahman. Freshman. Tunis,Tunisia/Paris,France


Likely lineup:

1. Azuma
2. Vukadin
3. Abderrahman
4. Whitaker
5. Mesarovic
6. Pitts
Smith and Aronson could battle for 6 as well. There will be some shuffling in the middle of the lineup throughout the year. Graduate transfer Damm is a doubles specialist it seems.


On paper this looks like a better team than last year. Vukadin, Abderrahman and Mesarovic are good freshmen talents. How fast they adjust to the college game will determine if this team can make the NCAA tournament this season.

1-10 in the ACC was one of the worst seasons in the history of the program.
