The difference in this game was Clowney and third down

on Defense. We could not get our D off the field and Clowney made sure our O couldn't stay on the field.

No Clowney and we win that game by 10 points. The kid's a baller. He's a punk-### too but he can play.

Agreed, but would add a few other things

I know injuries happen, but losing Breeland, Robinson, Jenkins, and Williams all at the CB position was very tough on us. We were using our 4th and 5th guys at CB all night, and they were able to torch us through the air, just as NC State did the week before. I think our corners had their hands on at least 4 of Thompson's passes, so only getting 1 INT was very unfortunate.

SC didn't completely dominate us last night like they have the past few years. Our running backs ran the ball much more effectively than their's did. Ellington and McDowell carried the ball 19 times for 129 yards (6.6 ypc), compared to Davis and Miles who combining running 28 times for 88 yards (3.1 ypc).

Both teams were also able to get pressure on the QB, but the difference was Thompson was able to evade the rush and escape, while Boyd took sacks or was on the ground all night. Clowney truly does deserve tons of credit though. I was also impressed by Thompson, and I don't think Shaw would have come anywhere close to playing as well.

I also don't think Morris had a good game at all as OC. The game plan and play calls were completely uninspired. I was expecting to see some new wrinkles, a few trick plays, and tons of misdirection, screens, and quick passes to help negate the pass rush. I know he had a few drops, but Sammy Watkins needed to touch the ball at least 15 times last night. He had 0 carries and 4 catches. Hopkins had 1 catch. Coming into the game, I thought SC's cornerbacks were supposed to be a weakness, and I felt like we didn't challenge them at all to make tackles in the open field with sweeps or quick passes to Watkins and Hopkins.

We will recover though, and I am expecting a much better performance in the bowl game. I think the Gamecocks have just gotten into our heads a bit, even though we could have very easily beaten them if a few plays or even calls went differently. With a win in the bowl game, and if Boyd comes back, we will definitely start off next season in the top 10. Despite last night, it is still a very good time to be a Tiger.

What is so frustrating is that we had an additional third quarter possesion before the game ever started and gave it up. Maybe one day we will learn to defer when we win the toss.

Wildcat is a waste of a down. We wasted quite a few downs in the second and third quarter. We can't afford to waste downs against stout defenses, obviously.

We played hard the whole game, but the better team won.

Offense certainly should and could have done more to carry their share of the load.
