The difference is this game?

Jun 3, 2012, 5:44 PM

The difference in this game? SCar is using the wide strike zone and Clemson is fighting it.
The ##### are simply playing smarter.

And THAT is painful to watch.

Exactly. Slap those pitches to the opposite field.***

Mobile strike zones are maddening. This crew sucks....

The crew sucks...

But they suck both ways.
I haven't seen many calls that have been biased.

We definitely need to be swinging at anything close. Can't

Excactly

Felder's third strike was in the same place as the second strike, but he just watched it go by.

Protect the plate and more... especially with two strikes.

That K on Felder was at least 6 inches outside. I don't understand the notion of a "wide zone." There is a fixed piece of rubber that denotes it's wideness. The umpire is not free to interpret it as he pleases. It is upsetting and has played a huge role in this regional.

I know the rule.

Jun 3, 2012, 6:15 PM

The strike zone is just over the plate. Nothing this team can do can change the umpire's incorrect interpretation of the rule (not that it's up for interpretation, anyway).

The umpires are awful, but our pitchers are grooving the ball when we know the umpire's perceived strike zone is "wide".

Why?
