The coaching staff still seems to struggle with how

Feb 14, 2015, 5:36 PM

to use the pitching staff.

You've got a guy throwing well and you bring in a new pitcher....why?

May be I would not second guess if if not for the fact the new pitcher gave up 3 hits (1 HR) and had the bases loaded before he struck out the final batter. Hopefully that experience pays off later in the season.

Seriously, whining after a win?***

Early part of the season, cold weather. No problem with pitching changes.

Not exactly warm but not cold...temp is 56 degrees.

Feb 14, 2015, 5:45 PM

You may be right.

It's a win and that's the bottom line.

The only reason I can think of is the cold weather.

There are plenty of reasons to question Jack

Feb 14, 2015, 5:44 PM

but this early in the season all of the pitchers are working with a pretty strict pitch count until they get some innings in. Not going to criticize him for looking out for the player's well being.

Exactly

Feb 14, 2015, 5:56 PM

let's keep those arms healthy for the whole season. I'd hate to get someone hurt then wonder who's going to give you some innings when you're trying to make a late season run.
Go Tigers!!

Was it windy in Tigertown ? Wind in the lower part of the state was 20-30 mph.

Windy

Feb 14, 2015, 6:10 PM

think it's been windy over most of the Upstate. If it's windy tomorrow, wrap up before the game! It's going to be in the LOW 30's.
Go Tigers!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yep. Cold and a lot of season left.

I can appreciate what he did.

Actually Coach has to find out who he can count on to pitch relief. Drew has been projected as our closer. Coach has to give him the ball early in the season to test him before a high profile opportunity. I don't think any of the other relievers had a high pitch count. We need to find our the pecking order for relief pitching. Great way to fight for a win today.

So far, the starting pitchers seem to be good. The bullpen, I don't know.
