Y’all act like we are a basketball blue blood and are perennial ncaa final four contenders.
We are in the midst of one of the 10-15 best seasons in our history and all you can do is show up after losses to b;tc& about how brownell can’t coach.
Let me remind you all again. He wins games, he competes to get in the ncaa tourney most seasons, he took us to a sweet 16, he’s won TWICE in chapel hill, he graduates players, he keeps his teams out of trouble, he uses the portal, he recruits fairly well, and he finishes in the top half of the acc year in and out.
What do you want? Who do you think is coming to Clemson?
We are lucky to have Coach B. Listen to national pundits talk about him and they recognize how good of a coach he is.

The players loved Thomas Austin too. Guess what they now love Matt Luke and now recognize what they were missing. Coaches get fire all the time and players learn to move on. Players liking a coach has zero to do with how good of a head coach he is. Only Winning determines that and as I’ve said a million times YOU are the lunatic fringe.
If you polled the Clemson fan base it would be heavily weighted towards (pro move on from BB) probably like 90%.

First off, that sweet 16 only happened once during his 14 year tenure here. Second, even though he won in Chapel Hill twice, he only has a 14% winning percentage against them. Third, we've only finished in the top half of the ACC 7/14 years. Not to mention how he's extremely dirty, pushing his players on the court, verbally abusing them during practice, and using profanity consistently in games. We don't expect to make it to the final four every year, we just want a coach that can consistently win, unlike Brad.

Check yourself. Prior to his arrival, Clemson had 11 20-win seasons. In 14 years, Coach BroWnell has six 20-win seasons and only one losing season. Unheard of at Clemson. If you hate Clemson basketball, just don’t watch. We don’t need you.

This is a biased statistic considering the number of games played is not the same across the history of Clemson basketball and you are not adjusting for the out-of-conference schedule in a given year. It's still noteworthy... biased, but noteworthy.

But this was supposed to be his best. And you’re going to call his likely 6th place seed in the ACC tourney a triumph? This game had consequence and he fumbled it - which is his norm. History didn’t win this game. Wake Forest has been struggling for nearly two decades. Brad has an overwhelmingly lopsided record against them. But somehow Steve Forbes in his 4th season and a team with 2 seniors beat our team with 7 seniors. I’m not sure how you truly judge this season until the post season plays out. And anything less than advancing in the NCAA tourney just ranks as one of the countless disappointing seasons in our history, which for some reason we feel the need to pay him more than Tony Bennett (base salary) or Hubert Davis.

However, 14 whole years with 2 NCAA tourney wins is abysmal by any account. With this teams talent and players, finishing 11-9 is a bad season. Yippy we beat UNC in Chapel Hill. I’ll trade that win every day for wins tonight and last Saturday for that 4th seed.

Fallacy by omission. This is only one aspect of our “history”. His percentage making the tournament is significantly lower than that of his immediate predecessor. His lone victory in 2011 is not comparable to any of his predecessors since it never existed before. That fact that he even played in that game was a demonstrable regression. His two meaningful wins didn’t come until season 8. His predecessor did not coach an 8th season. The only other coach in the 64 team era to even coach 8 seasons made the Sweet Sixteen in his 6th. As usual you present incomplete, misleading information with an agenda. And it isn’t the betterment of Clemson basketball.

In my 40+ years of watching Tiger basketball, BrownL is better than 1 coach...Shyatt. Ellis ran out of steam. Barnes steamed it up with a coed. And Purnell left steaming. But each of them accomplished more on the court, recruited better and coached exciting basketball.
BrownL has been a snoozefest of grinder defensive basketball with a narcoleptic offense. Has constantly missed out on an expanded tournament. Can't recruit. And can't compete in a weaker ACC than his predecessors. For 14 years he's been mediocre by any ACC standard.
No one thinks we're a blue bloods. But our history before BrownL is better than our present with him.

"Brownell hating crowed" is a huge straw man, especially if you consider maybe only one or two people our of many thousands have even used that word hate when referring to Brownell. I think the vast vast majority like Brad a lot, they just don't think he is a very good coach. That is a world of difference than "hating" someone. Why don't you tone down the rhetoric and say something like the "crowd that wants Brownell fired kills me" and then state your case why he is so good.
PS: I like Brad a lot and hope he stays at Clemson and is extremely successful, although his history shows that he is probably mediocre at best or he is pretty good and that Clemson will never be a basketball powerhouse ...... which I don't buy.

Hahahaha so because we are a few games batter than our average means we should celebrate these 14 years of mediocrity?
Our history in football was mediocre until Dabo showed up. No we are not a Blue blood in football. All it takes is the one right hire and everything can change. Look at SC. They look way more impressive than we do in basketball this season outside of losing to us. That’s all we can brag about over them. They are clearly better coached and are not more talented and it’s not even that close.
No I don’t accept mediocrity in any of the BIG 3 sports. I don’t care what our history says. I know one thing. I enjoyed OP ball way more than BB ball.

Totally agree, i'm very happy with what Brad is doing and I'm fine with making the tournament every few years. Bball is just a sport to get me thru winter. Then baseball.

I agree with this post.
The difference in talent alone, probably costs us four or five games a year. My opinion of course.
Only thing I don’t prefer is the dependence on the three.
The team is usually “up” for games, and plays with unmistakable Clemson heart and class.
