I’m assuming with this offer, Paul is not likely now? Anyone know?

There’s no spirit to it. If you don’t think shenanigans are taking place at UGA and NIL$, you are kidding yourself.
We lose a 5* DB right after BV leaves only to have them jump in and snag him ONE day after their DC leaves.
And now, they just come out of nowhere the day he leaves from an official and all of a sudden they are in the lead.

it's nothing you have to worry about, unless you just want to. There is a staff in place that is addressing all of the concerns you have and even concerns you haven't thought of yet.
It has nothing to do with kidding myself, I choose to not worry about things I can't control, and to live my life in the sunshine.

I believe this is covered in another post from earlier today, but we lost several RBs last year to transfer, graduation, etc. Our RB room currently consists of Pace(Jr.), Shipley(So.), and Mafah(So.) with a walk-on or two. It is not unexpected to go after Paul and add another "project" RB.

Yeah, your supposed to "grin and bear it", on this football discussion board>so you don't ruin the bliss enjoyed by a large number of tigernet members. They'd rather remain ignorant about the under workings, recruiting, and the figurative mechanics of the football program. You're killing their buzz and waking them from their slumber with anything they concieve as a negative. Careful, awakened from their drunken stupor, you'll be flamed as coot followed by a remedial phrase somehow regarded as clever. All stems from the Jim Jones like regard they have for Dabo. Though if anyone deserves to be held in such high esteem it's probably him.

You all know that come Wednesday this is going to be a top 12, possibly top 10 recruiting class after all of the attrition caused when BV left. The coaches have done a phenomenal job in the last month to build this class back to where it is going to finish. It had fallen to 37th. It is all the way back to #13 in the composite and we could sign 4-5 more kids. Kudos to this staff. They never quit. Are some prospects developmental? Sure, but you need that. People want to harp on Bama and Georgia taking transfers. They are taking transfers because half their team is in the portal. Ours isn't. You need developmental kids who build depth and want to stick around.

I don't know but I expect it will take a good season and another year before high school coaches and players even know who our new coordinators are. Relationships take time.

Having to go fallback route because we only ever
Jan 26, 2022, 3:45 PM
|

had 14 commits to begin with. When the top 4 left because of venables departure, we only had 10 and two were punter/kicker. We had no other names that we were even working. Yes, hard to believe that a few years ago we were reading articles on how clemson had modern recuiting down to a science. Now we seem to not know #### from shoe polish as to having a plan for other top athletes when we don't get five stars, or four stars. W are literally just gettting warmm bodies to fill the roster limit and are still 8 short. There is no reason at all we aren't right there with Georgia, Bama, Ohio State in recruiting after six years of playoffs, semifinals and championships. We did not play our hand to the fullest.People can say what they want to and hood can brag that we are going to get our roter up to 75 with this post early signing day firedrill, but the fact is if this happens again, then we will be back to 1998-2010. It should not be playing out this way.

It's hard for some people to understand

or they are too busy trying to justify every fallback player we offer and every primary target we miss on. They weren't "Clemson men" if they don't choose us and if we offer a 190 lb DE with no offers "trust the coaches" is all you hear.
It does take time for new coaches like Spiller and Grisham to build relationships and get the players we want but will still have Dabo.
Crazy how much our recruiting has fallen lately.

The truth is hard for people to grasp. Our recruiting will bring us an ACC championship. However, it's going to be near impossible to compete with UGA, Bama, and OSU in the current climate of CFB with our current recruiting.

How can we lose what we don't have YET? The kid is finally getting some recognition for his hard work and is finally getting to enjoy the fruits of that hard work. Let him enjoy the process, if he chooses GA or anyone else over our Tigers, then he was not the right fit for our culture to begin with. GO TIGERS!

We offered him, so apparently he's a right fit for our culture according to Swinney.

Paul wants to play and here he's 4th on the depth chart looking at a redshirt.
He now holds offers from us, UGA, Notre Dame and Michigan along with a slew of others. If he doesn't choose us, it has nothing to do with anything but the chance at immediate PT.

No. Adams has had a greyshirt offer since October. He just announced he's announcing. This has nothing to do with Paul. If numbers permit, it does appear Adams is a candidate for the greyshirt to become a 2022 offer, but Paul is top priority and everything I've read everywhere says we lead.
