Ya basturds...
Mailed power bill on 3/14. Yet to show up. Now I have to pay a $35 stop payment on the check plus a $10 late fee because of the post office's ineptitude. Oh, and I have to pay the March and April bills by Thursday or they will shut off my power.
Can you send an invoice to USPS accounts payable for reimbursement?

Might want to check your bank account. I used to mail payments to my water company because they charged $5 for online payments (idiots). Anyways I noticed I had a late bill and so I went to check my bank account to see when the check was cashed. It wasn't cashed, and in fact I had a few new big charges. Some dood stole my mail, made fake checks with my bank account info from the check, and was going around to all the Sam's, Publix, and other stores and buying a bunch of shiz.
People are absolut sheet nowadays.

Since I have been able to keep an $800 balance in my checking account (about 30 years) I have been on auto draft with all my utilities. Never had any problems. It's the shiz. You should try it!

I think I have to reorder checks every time I have to write a check because I can never find that place I hide my checkbook so no one can find it.

convenience fee.
If it's cheaper for them to receive the check, open the enverlope, and process the check than take my money online then that's worth a stamp to me.
Looking at you Spartanburg County Tax Office . . . .
I have all utilities on autopay though - I also have it set where it's the same every month with a make up at the end of the year so I only have to pepper my angus once instead of monthly.

to mail to Duke power because for some reason he trusts the post office but not banks.
Then there's my UDP neighbor that was mad because Broad River Coop closed their Mayo office and she has to drive to Boiling Springs to pay cash.

Funny, the post office seems a lot more efficient when they see a mailing address to the IRS. When I sent them my check earlier this year, I mailed it on Sunday, and IRS had cashed it by Wednesday.
But I use a check on purpose, because eff the IRS.

signed up for the e pay system they have, but have never used it.
I do take it to the PO myself and put it in the slot. Never ever put outgoing checks in your own mailbox.

I sent a "guaranteed" overnight pack with the USPS for $27 last Monday. It took 3 days. They are having some issues at the moment. They were fine a few months ago.
