There was a fresh sense of enthusiasm when TP6 was put in; wish it had been earlier. I hope his injury is superficial and he's ready and DS and TE put him in earlier against WF.
Still don't understand the staff's lingering infatuation with DJ. If WF sees what UCONN saw, it coule be along day.

I don't understand what is so hard to figure out for you guys. It's simply the Transfer Portal. DJU was one of the top 2 QB's in his class, played great last year the 2 games TL#16 missed and CDS and TE still think he has the talent to be another great Tiger QB, as is Brice Young at Alabama. NOW THE PROBLEM, so the coaches sit DJU at let him simmer, watch, learn, gain experience and knowledge or whatever, guess what. He's not going to SIT and STAY. This Transfer Portal ties coaches hands. Look what it has done to our RB situation. Lynn J, would most likely playing more than ever if he were here, Mikey Dukes would be getting carries, Bowman, would be playing, glad he left though, he's has less character the Kendrick. But as I said, I blame it all on the Portal, it's going to get worse and it will affect Clemson more than other schools, as it has, because of their recruiting has been so good, and all the 4 and 5 stars think they should be playing now, like Bowman. JMO

BBBII®, there's some truth in what you had posted.
RB depth has been hurt by the portal (L.J.Dixon: Apparently in the dog house because of poor practice habits / off-the-field behavior ... and M.Dukes: Did not appear to be as bad of an attitude problem as LJD, and no where near as good as LJD, but would have helped with RB depth).
O-Line ... eh, OK, losing P.Tchio (who proved that he can fill in [not great, but marginally competent]) hurts depth on an O-Line that is thinner than Paul Finebaum.
D.Kendrick and D.Bowman ... both were booted off the team, so the Portal made no difference with them.
Admittedly the DJ situation is more delicate because of the Portal, but I suspect that no one predicted that DJ was so un-ready to be a starting QB this year. He is apparently a practice super-star, but under the bright lights he has been slow to develop. (But if we're truthful, then we can see that DJ is a far better QB now than he was during first 4 games of the season. But "far better QB now" does not imply that he is ready yet for prime time.)
If we had sat DJ (which was not going to happen, because he was and is still our best QB option ... by far), then I agree with you that he would probably have hit the portal-potty.

So he has gone from horrible to below AVG.
With a QBR lingering around 40 after 10 games there is not much improvement.

His drive was maybe the cleanest and best played TD of this season.
Heck I have more confidence in Helms than I do DJ.

If DJ really thinks that the portal will solve his problems, he is a real dummy… even dumber than he looks on the field sometimes.
We need smarter, tougher QBs and wide receivers. We need guys who can take a hit or two and stay on the field. Too many glass jaws in this boxing match.
