Syracuse has outscored their last two opponents 106-17.
Sep 30, 2013, 2:06 PM
|
|
Syracuse has had two weeks off to focus on us after two more weeks of glorified practice. This game is much bigger to Cuse than it is to us. We are traveling far away from home to a building we have never been before. We are coming off a game that was very easy, with a very important game around the corner in FSU.
I anticipated having a stressful game against NC State. I anticipated us killing Wake Forest. I am fairly confident we will be stressed out this Saturday too. I hope I am wrong. I want peace.

You fail to mention they played Wagner and Tulane in those 2 games. Hardly competition. The fact is Syracuse is not in the top 60! People need to stop getting stressed about the Dome and this game. The Tigers WILL take care of business.

For your info, I read the comments on syracuse.com and was amazed at just how great this SU team is supposed to be. Get real. 2 wins over Wagner and Tulane just doesn't cut the mustard!

Clemson will be better and faster than any team....

Syracuse has faced thus far which does not bode well for a team whose secondary is its weakenss. That speed and the pace at which Clemson operates is not something you can simulate in practice.
If Clemson comes out firing on all cylinders, this game will likely be over before half time.
That is not intended in any way to be a slight against Syracuse. It's just a candid assessment. Many teams on Clemson's schedule will fall victim to a similar fate this season.

I got on that site briefly and all I can say is the people on that site, including you, are drinking too much of that "Jimmy Jones Juice"! Don't be worried though we'll bring you back to reality on Saturday, October 5th at 3:30PM at the Foam Dome

Especially early on. But I think Syracuse is going to put up one hell of a fight, moreso than NC State even. I think we win the game, but I don't think we cover the spread. I also see turnovers being more of a detriment to us in this game than they have been thus far in the season.

The bye week worries me more than anything;

NC State had a bye before they played us as well.
I say a road crowd (even at a small, non-football venue) coupled with a defense that has had some time to dissect our offense could be trouble.
We're going to have to come up swinging like we did vs. Wake. I say 2-3 TDs in the first quarter will put this one away again but that's IF we can get in the rhythm.

Minor point, but the Carrier Dome was built specifically for football. Basketball only plays on half the field. BTW, not a bad sight line in the place for a football game.

I know that 1995 season (1996 Gaotr Bowl) is ancient history but that was my first bowl game as a Clemson fan.
I personally need some revenge for that.

For whatever reason, this game does not- although maybe it should? Syracuse's talent level doesn't compare to ours. It shouldn't be close.
