Some Simple Rules to Live by:
Aug 13, 2021, 9:47 AM
|
|
1. Leave people alone.
2. Mind your own business.
3. Nobody likes a tattle-tail.
Ryanadidas, is there story behind this post?
Why yes. Yes there is.
Can I hear it?
Well twist my arm...
SarahAdidas has been a tattle-tail her whole life. It's her worst trait. By far. She has this burning desire to not let people get away with anything. Regardless if it has any effect on her or not. I take rules and laws with a grade of slaw, so it's an odd combination to say the least...
Yesterday, she sees a viral facebook post where a volunteer at a local hospital describes a small child patient that is probably going to die from a choking hazard that was most likely avoidable. She doesn't give a name, but it's a fairly small town and she gave the age and a description of the illness. The post starts circulating around the webs.
Instead of ignoring it, Sarahadidas DM's the woman and says something like "hey, please consider taking that post down. It's a HIPO violation and more importantly that poor mother could very well lose her child and then find out that she's being shamed in a viral facebook post." The woman responds by telling Sarahadidas to eff off.
Does Sarahadidas let it go... not for a second. She calls HR at this woman's hospital HR and explains the issue. Furthermore, HR asks Sarahadidas if they can use screen shots of her DMs when they confront the woman.... she clearly should have said, "no, please don't." In her attempt to really bury this woman, she agrees. HR probably rakes the volunteer woman over the coals and fires her (From her unpaid volunteer job). Woman DM's wife and says something to the effect of "I know who you are and where you live." Now wife is freaked out.
If only she would have listened to my sage-like rules to live by, we wouldn't be dealing with this crap.
Now I'm going to end up sleeping on the roof of my house with a rifle like a Korean Storekeeper during the Rodney King riots.

Good advice. No offense to your wife, but it's a pretty low move to try to get anyone in trouble at their job for opinions they express on Facebook. ESPECIALLY if it's someone on your friends list. That makes you a dirty little sneak if you do that.
Or for any of the creeper mother ####### in P&R who try to look up identities of people here because they don't like their opinions, and that goes all the way back to the 2002-06 days for those guys who just lurk now like little b!tches.
Either disagree out loud or to yourself, and move on with your life.

Yep.
Her decision tree looked like this:
1. This woman's post is unethical and could potentially be devastating for that mother. What should I do? 1a. ignore it 1b. take action*****
2. So I've decided to take action... so far that's not necessarily a bad thing. What should I do? 2a. Go to her HR department and put her on blast 2b. Send her a DM explaining my concerns and ask her to consider removing it*******
3. So I send her a DM. Still probably the right thing to do. She does not take the DM well. Instead of removing it, she decides to tell me to eff off. How should I proceed? 3a. Cut my losses, and move along. Oh well I tried. 3b. Go thermo-nuclear and contact her HR so they can remove the post and prove my point. Yea, that'll show her! Also, I don't feel too bad b/c she's an unpaid volunteer... not like it's livlihood. *****
4. I contact her HR. They are very appreciative. I feel good because that poor mother won't have to deal with this viral post while trying to possibly bury her child. One more step, HR asks me if it's okay if they basically tell the woman that I'm behind this, instead of leaving it as a mystery. What do I do? 4a. Use common sense and ask to have my name left out of it because of potential retribution for me, my children, or my super hunky bigdicked husband. 4b. Let them use my name so that woman knows I got the last laugh. Really spike the ball in her face. *****
I fully understand her first 2 decisions. The third one I don't agree with, but it's somewhat defensible because she's passionate about the nursing field and felt like this was about patient advocacy. Also, the woman wasn't paid, so maybe it's not a huge deal if they reprimand her or fire her. The 4th decision is pure stupidity.

I mean, clearly that woman would know it was my wife, but she wouldn't be certain.
That dumbassss would stop a mafia crime and then volunteer to testify against them in open court. She has no sense of self protection, or more importantly, protecting my kids, my assets, and keeping me from having to get involved and wind up in jail because my rage doesn't have a brake pedal.

People who take such action often fail to consider that it'll boomerang back at them. Best to just leave it alone.

When we were younger, she'd do crap like unplug the jukebox at a biker bar... For God's Sake. You know that I'm going to end up getting in a bar fight because YOU did something stupid.
I swear if this turns out to be an issue, I'll just walk her out in the yard and let that woman whoop her azzzzz. Not even going to stop her.

I'm sure you know the same about this woman.
Your only choice is a preemptive strike against her 1st.
You can start slow with hanging a dead skunk on her door but I recommend full bore burn her house down, poison the well, salt the ground type action.
While you are at it, go after the HR clown that actually showed the exchange to this psycho lady and at least slash their tires. All they had to do is say we received info that makes you unsuitable to be a volunteer for us. Have a nice life.

Aug 13, 2021, 10:26 AM

with the whistleblower's name? That is unnecessary.
Advocating for the child and Mom might have been a good decision. Going to HR is somewhat understandable. Bad choices after that though.
You need to take this out on her.

I have refused to tell her "I told you so". I layed out this EXACT situation to her the night before and she didn't listen. Then it plays out exactly.... like.....I....said....it....would....
The fact that I haven't thrown it in her fact is killing her, I know it.

***UPDATE***

So wife filed a police report because she's all freaked out.
Police said there's nothing they can do unless "something happens".
I am confident that nothing happen. Not even a little bit stressed.
Maybe this will make my wife learn a few life lessons, primarily: listen to Ryanadidas because he's a very sharp guy with great intuition and foresight.

for her actions, you're too far down the road to sit idly by. It's time to go hard in the paint on this volunteer. I'd start by doing a few slow cruises by her house with the windows down and various times in the day. Have some binoculars hanging around your neck for effect. Gotta call her bluff if she wants to bow up.
But jesus I hope your wife quits that ####. My god rule following tattle tails are the worst. Personally I think they're a primary driver of the downfall of this country, but that's another convo.
