Dec 31, 2013, 12:02 PM

except for the time i picked my nose and wiped it on the ashtray. the booger dried. mom went to ash and it caught on cig and made a crackling and some smoke. i wasnt allowed to stash boogers on the ashtray any more. so i started flicking em at my sister.

i guess i didnt turn out alright at all.

The bane of my existence in middle school was smelling

Dec 31, 2013, 12:04 PM

like smoke when my sister or parents would drop me off. I remember a Christmas road trip when I was 12 from Greenwood to Michigan in an extended cab silverado with my mom, step dad, sister and grandmother.....all of who smoked....plus to small dogs who were non-smoker. I wanted to kill everyone(even the dogs) in their sleep before that trip was over. 20 muthafarking hours EACH GD WAY. I hate big brother and govt regulation as much as anyone....but I'm okay with this one.

I smoked for 10+ years, pack+/day

Dec 31, 2013, 12:07 PM

and quit 6 years & 2 days ago.

I don't mind being around smoking/smokers or anything, but I can't believe I used to smell like that.

You could smell it on Christmas cards from (from my aunt specifically) smokers....that's just groce

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Good for you, dude.

Dec 31, 2013, 12:21 PM

You should smoke cigars though. They're awesome.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I do

When I was about 15, my dad and step mom switched off driving straight from SC to Los Angeles. What kept them going? Coffee and a continuous supply of Salem cigs...with the windows barely cracked so the A/C air wouldn't be wasted. It was disgusting. I tried to just barricade myself under blankets and sleep a lot. Good law.

When I did my "behind the wheel" in Virginia...

Dec 31, 2013, 12:11 PM

which is the road skills test you have to do with a driving school to get your license, the instructor smoked in the car constantly. It was awful, because his car stank like cigarettes, and I always ended up smelling like cigarettes when I got out. He also had to constantly be opening and closing the window in the middle of winter, which meant the car was either freezing or he'd have to be blasting the heat- which just made the smoke and the smoke smell worse.

Seems like it would take a lot of dedication to smoking to have to do it in the car, with the window down, in freezing weather.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That, and the value reduction your car takes when you

Dec 31, 2013, 12:15 PM

smoke in it. Personally, I can tell you just by peeking my head in a vehicle if it's been smoked in, even if it's been cleaned and I ain't gonna buy it.

The added costs alone don't make it worth it, not to mention the horrible smell.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

but the same people want pot to be legal for all, so you

Dec 31, 2013, 1:53 PM

can't smoke tabacco in front of other people, but they can smoke pot.

Sense.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Pot is less harmful for one...

Dec 31, 2013, 2:15 PM

Secondly, nobody is legitimately arguing for pot to be smoked openly everywhere, especially around children. Don't be dense.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

levels of virtually every toxin that exists in tobacco.

But I admit your other point that it should have the same restrictions, i.e. don't smoke in front of a kid or whatever.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't buy that, to me the proof is in the pudding

Dec 31, 2013, 2:46 PM

People aren't dying by the thousands every year because of smoking pot, and you could make the argument that's because not as many people smoke it...but then could you point to one case of cancer caused by marijuana smoking? Fact is, any research that's been done has been inconclusive at best, and you can't with a straight face try to argue marijuana should be illegal, while keeping tobacco and alcohol legal...It's not logical.

What's definitely confusing about this is some of the conservative backlash marijuana legalization faces, which has to be tied with religion. As a fairly conservative person myself, that's the only explanation I can come up with, as this truly is a privacy from government issue. To say otherwise is akin to the liberal gun control arguments.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's just not true.

Jan 8, 2014, 8:21 AM [ in reply to Its not less harmful, that is total propaganda it has higher ]

I'm sorry, but you're painfully misinformed.
