Silver Linings

Nov 3, 2023, 9:11 AM

Lots of craziness surrounding the program, not good. Losing games, not good. I mean, we are looking at a serious possibility of having a losing record and missing a bowl game.

Worst yet, we could quite possibly lose our second game in a row to the Chickens.

So can anything at all, any good come out of this train wreck?

You can say what you want about Dabo, but he is no fool. If we are going to have a bad season it might as well crash and burn. Cracks are exposed, and serious issues will need to be addressed. Dabo knows that next year can not be another series of press conferences talking about how consistent this program has been.

I sincerely think a Phoenix can rise from the ashes. We're still Clemson, we still got one of the best coaches in college football history.

Y'all know me, I ain't no pumper but when things get really bad (and they are really bad), the fan base needs to rally. Complain, be upset, sure. Stop watching, or going to games - no. Cliche as it may be, every game is it's own season.

Let's beat ND, no one expects us to do anything. Time to remind the Domers who we are and where they are playing Saturday!

Go Tigers!

CDS knows how to speak to recruits, and this season

will give him the motivation to inform recruits of where we need help and how they can help get Clemson back to the CFP and competing for championships.

It is only 1 season, last year we were a 1 pt horrific loss to the Coots from a CFP bid..... so the ship sank very quickly and is taking on water, we need some players to help get plug those holes and become part of a new "best is the standard" and "the best is yet to come"

I understand what you're saying but the signs were there. Dabo's used the 4 plays mantra this year too. But more in line with what pbc is saying.

Let's look at last year in reverse. We were one dropped pass from losing the wake game. We got a fortuitous bounce fumble in fsu territory to go up by 10 at the half instead of 3. We were a couple of bonehead mistakes from cuse, the roughing cade play etc.

I really think DJ5 made his mind up to transfer after the ND game. Maybe b4. So, what I'm saying, we were just a few plays last year from being 7-5. There wouldn't have been any acc championship. Cade would probably have been forced to start, if not the ND game, definitely the next one.

Does that make sense? Not a dump on Dabo but we've been fortunate and unfortunate the last 3 seasons. It's finally catching up to us. We had more turnovers in 15 and 16 than this year... but we were good enough to overcome those, less t h e Pitt game. And we still should have won that one.

THE TREE HAS BEEN PRUNED

the past is the past

the next few games are just one or two plays from Dabo hitting the reset button effective immediately.
courtesy is in play right now. the program is giving the players and coaches a respectful goodbye

IF we win with the backups playing, then we really do have another data point on which branches need to go.

This is something I was thinking. For whatever reason it sometimes looks like we don’t really play our best guys but just our older guys like the coaches think stuff is too complicated for FR/SO to figure out even though they are clearly more athletic and dynamic and aggressive. We will see.

I wondered that same thing....***

Ain't nothing been "pruned" yet other than the amount of nookie Tyler is getting from his girlfriend. ;)
