SI Way-Too-Early Top 25

Tigers are ranked 16 in SI's Way-to-Early (and worthless) Top 25 for next year.
Following is the discussion on "Why this ranking could be flawed."
"Aside from losing star wide receivers Sammy Watkins and Martavis Bryant and record-setting quarterback Tajh Boyd, the Tigers could be doomed to fail because South Carolina's Spurrier won't stop playing tricks on Swinney. Spurrier may keep popping up around campus with boxes marked "ACME" and a giant grin on his face. Swinney won't come out of his office. No, really, we just tried. It's locked. I guess you can check the door again, but it's locked. See, told you."
SI is really diss'ing Coach Swinney, but does anybody know what Dabo or Clemson did that led to this kind of BS?

Nope, not a coot troll. I'm a Clemson Tiger through and through -- B.S. in Cr.E. in 1964 and M.S. in Environmental Engineering in 1972 with 6 years of Navy service in between. IMO, Slurrier and his teams are about as low as it gets.
I've been an SI subscriber for many years but don't see much positive reporting in the mag. Been wondering why that is for a while. Subscription runs out next September and don't expect to renew.

owned Dabo and our Clemson Tigers. Let's face the very obvious. We have been outcoached and outplayed every year for 5 years. Not a fluke phenomenon. What makes it funny is this fact is clearly evident to everyone except Clemson fans which makes it great sport to poke that stick in our eye.
Personally, I am looking forward to Spurrier retiring and Shaw graduating. Next year I like our chances ... with Shaw gone, SC DL diminished and game in Clemson, we have a real chance.
The LSU win was a tremendous win against the best Defense in the country last year and the UGA and OSU wins were also big. The glass is more than half full, but the SC stain must be cleaned up.
As far as SI, the Frank DeFord's and Curry Kirkpatrick's who made the magazine are long gone and so is my subscription.

regarding SI's demise. I think my dad was a charter subscriber, and we could hardly wait for the mag to be delivered each week. Now I leaf through each issue to see if I'm interested in any of the articles. More often than not, I take it to the hospital for the patients to read.
Same thing with ESPN. Used to to watch on a regular basis, but don't waste my time now. I record games so I can fast forward through commercials and ESPN talking head blather.

same formula for watching ESPN. I mute practically every football broadcast and find the level of enjoyment rises considerably. NEVER watch any of the sports talk shows and have stopped subscribing to SI. Keeps my BP in check.
