Republican LOLs

Jun 4, 2014, 5:23 PM

The way back machine delivers the LOLs.

The way back machine delivers the LOLs.
by SantaFeMarie:

Michelle Malkin, 7/20/2009:

My prayers are with the family of Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier seen on the Taliban abduction video released this weekend. The Jawa Report has the full clip.

All Americans should hope and pray for his release from jihadi custody.

Sarah Palin in 2009:

"Todd and I are praying for Private First Class Bowe Bergdahl, his family, and all of his fellow soldiers who are putting their lives on the line to defend our freedom and protect democracy abroad,” Governor Palin said. “The capture of Private Bergdahl and the bombings in Jakarta prove that we have not defeated terrorism, and that radical extremists will stop at nothing to attack Westerners and our ideals."

Kelly Ayotte, January 2014:

This June will mark five years since Bowe Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban. After so long in captivity, DoD must redouble its efforts to find Sergeant Bergdahl and return him safely to his family," Ayotte wrote in a letter this week to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

Oliver North, 2011 Facebook post:

Today, I received from the National League of POW/MIA Families, a "Never Forget Bracelet" emblazoned with the name of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. He was seized on June 30, 2009 in Afghanistan and is being held by the Haqqani Organization - a Taliban afilliated terrorist group - in northwest Pakistan. Sgt Bergdahl and his loved ones here at home deserve our prayers and encouragement until he is rescued or released. That's what we do. We're Americans.

Mitch McConnel and Pat Toomey, April 2014:

no member of the armed forces who is missing in action or captured should be left behind.

at what point do your posts just become spam?

Jun 4, 2014, 6:07 PM

You're not a regular contributor to the board, and whenever you do post anything, it's usually 7-8 things in a row with the same subject line. Try mixing it up a little... or just post your own thoughts rather than scattershooting a bunch of copy and pasted stuff.

As for your post, I'm sure it doesn't matter at all to you that the people who knew Bergdahl was a deserter had to sign a non- disclosure agreement anybody from knowing anythign about his disappearance until he was found. You probably also don't care that quite a few people don't like that we went against our policy of negotiating with terrorists.

Well...we have a lot of fellow soldiers speaking out....

Jun 4, 2014, 6:35 PM

confirmation that he left a letter behind, that he shipped many of his belongings home, and a lot more in known know after the Manning leaks....right?

I'm not saying for sure what he did, but are you suggesting nothing more is known now than when his capture first came to light?

if he is a deserter so be it. But none of this changes the hilarity of Republicans advocating for leaving a soldier behind. You guys have really argued yourself into a corner on this one.

I will hang up and listen.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That all you got? If he walked away

Jun 4, 2014, 7:57 PM

he would not be left behind. HTH.

So in your "mind", questioning a prisoner exchange...

Jun 4, 2014, 9:35 PM [ in reply to Re: Well...we have a lot of fellow soldiers speaking out.... ]

with terrorists for 5 high level terrorists equates to "advocating leaving a soldier behind"??

Seriously?

You don't at least acknowledge a reasonable person might have a problem with this deal?

To use your "logic", no price would be too high to free a captive. If Bin Laden had been one of the released prisoners, would it have still been ok with you? If not, then you advocate leaving a soldier behind, right?

To me, I don't think the circumstances of his capture matters as much as what we gave up, their capability to hurt Americans again, the danger it puts our troops in in the future now that we have negotiated with an active enemy/terrorists, and just how bad it makes our country look.
