He isn't Trevor or Deshaun who came in and played great right away. However, he is not DJ who continued to struggle over two years. Cade will develop into a phenomenal quarterback for us it is just going to take time. I though he played well on Saturday and showed his talent against a very good FSU team. Sucks that this year has not shaken out how we thought it would but I still believe in Cade and the quarterback he will become. He may not be an NFL guy which means we are definitely going to get two more seasons with him at the helm. Looking forward to watching him develop in front of our eyes. Look at Jordan Travis, third year as the starter (might actually be more) and is playing great ball. I see Cade developing that same way and turning out to be a great QB for us. Would love to know what y'all think but that's my take.

Cade is going to be great and I wouldn’t rule out the NFL quite yet. Can’t accurately compare him to DW4/TLAW either they were on completely different teams don’t know how Cade would look with those stacked teams. What I do know is as Cade and this young core grow with experience they will be very hard to stop.

He will get some more strength but his accuracy is the best chance he has. When he his settled he’s as accurate as you wish a QB to be. The poise he played with Saturday was his best yet, and that’s only going to get better

with big time games at home, FSU and Notre Dame
now we're just going to see him leave after his junior year and we won't have a 5 star backfill.
the decision to stick it out with DJ will forever be the decision that had the most lasting effect on the program

Letting Cade shake out his issues last year would have always been beneficial for this season. He should have gotten the start after Syracuse and just let him play. Who knows if we even win the same amount of games (we probably lose the same games sans SC. I would be hard pressed to think we don’t at least beat SC with Cade as a starter), but the experience would have been a huge step forward to starting on the right foot this season. Looking at him vs Tenn to what we saw Saturday is drastically different. Who knows what half a season would’ve done for him.

You have a solid point. Dabo wants 1 thing and that is to win whether it’s by 30 points or 1. A win is a win and we were winning. I just pray we play with the same fire we did against fsu as we do against cues and we will win easily imo. Anyways GO TIGERS!!!

Again, as discussed as nauseam, though that is the case, to not allow Cade to see the field one time while DJ goes 8/29 97 yards is beyond comprehension considering they had pulled him in less than abysmal situations.
The turnover bug started with that game though. Fumbling the ball three times in one game is insane… yet we managed to almost repeat the performance against Duke.
But in a weird way… I am kind of glad we missed the CFP. We would have gotten smoked and this board would somehow be worse than it is now.

He looked good against FSU. He is able to hang in there and make an accurate throw just before a big DL bangs him. Look at the video of other games and notice how long those QB's have compared to Cade.

Backbreaking turnovers aside he's actually been pretty good this year. Lots of reason for optimism if we have him two more years.

will become an NFL QB. He already has a pretty strong arm. The TD to Brown against FAU appeared to be an effortless flick that went 50 yards in the air to the precise spot needed. As he progresses this year and next(he has plenty of room to add muscle and a desire to do so), it will be interesting to see how defenses adapt to our rapidly improving ability to throw the ball all over the field and how that makes us even more unpredictable and successful.
For the prior two years, throwing the ball well consistently and actually better and better throughout the year was not something we were capable of, for obvious reasons. Everyone was always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I will correct myself, he played against Georgia, Sc. state, Fsu then Carolina. But against Carolina tar holes he accounted for six td's.

Looks like he is just going to wait his turn. Weird to see that in today's game but would assume the plan is for him to redshirt this year then backup Cade the next two years. Take over as starter as a redshirt junior and start for two years. We'll see if that actually happens though.

Cade made several NFL throws with guys in his face and took the hits... kid showed out for me on Saturday. He will learn from this as well... FWIW if 80 and 6 get their blocking assignments right likely that is a first down and maybe more as FSU had a blown assignment on that play. Yes he should have handed it off with the down and yards to go but the fact he saw the mismatch should show people he's mentally getting the offense... it's the situational rookie mistakes.

He is as good as a lot of Tiger QBs I have seen over the years. I never understood why Boyd didn’t make an nfl squad. I don’t think Klubnik

Fair assessment....I liked what I saw Saturday with him spreading the ball around. TRAVIS is in his 6th year so can't expect Cade to be where he is although I thought Cade played just as well as Travis did Saturday.

Cade may be a decent college QB but anyone who thinks he is a NFL QB is delusional. Look no further than NY Jets QB Zach Wilson. The only reason he's on the Jets roster and starting is because some idiot GM drafted him so early and Roger's got hurt. I'm still trying to figure out who gave Cade a 5 star rating. DW4 and TL16 both showed that they were exceptional real quick and it wouldn't take long for them to be QB1. Cade may be the best we have now but I'm sure there is another DW4 or TL16 that's a legit 5 star that can come in and if given a fair opportunity can beat out Cade in the next year or two. All Clemson has to do is get him on campus and be willing to give him a chance to compete for the position.

Think about the term generational talent and what it implies. They don’t come along often and they don’t grow on trees.
Sure, another DW or TL would provide an immediate lift, but I like where we’re headed with the young man under center (or 4 yards behind).
So very few great QBs are immediately great. “Just recruit a generational qb”. Sure.

It's probably going to take just a little time to get him going under a new OC. The OC did well last year at TCU, but the QB there was a 5th year senior and a long time starter. While Cade is a young guy just going into his second season as a college player. Redshirting is huge for a QB a lot of times so they can learn systems and adjust to college ball. DW and TL didn't need that, well TL didn't and DW is arguable. DW could have used another year to adjust before being thrown into the fire. TL was just a freak and maybe one of the very few high school QBs that could have almost skipped the college game and gone straight to the bigs. That's an exaggeration by me, but he was still a freak on every level. I don't even think DJ was as bad as y'all do, but he was way beneath Trevor Lawrence and Clemson fans were spoiled by the talents of Watson and Lawrence.
I still have high hopes for Cade Klubnik, it's just going to be an adjustment this season, apparently. Makes me look bad because Clemson was one of my playoff teams and that's not happening now.

And despite Cade’s accolades and 5 star rating coming out of high school, I think it was obvious early on in his career that he isn’t a generational quarterback.
I believe he can be a really good QB at the college level, but it’s going to take time. He’s learning and improving. That’s okay, but I wish our coaches would stop acting like he’s the most amazing QB ever. Being positive is great, but at some point the glowing praise becomes fake and contrived.

Cade is a better version of what Bo Nix was a sophomore so far. Nix has evolved into one of the best QBs in the country two years later. The reality is we may have our first QB with four years of significant snaps since Tajh Boyd.
