Is shoot to kil to extreme of a border policy?

I don't think so. I believe if a shoot to kill policy was enacted, the innocent would stop crossing illegally and only those who would probably end up killing American citizens would be the only ones stupid enough to try. And if they were achem...stopped...from crossing, how many American lives may have been saved.

Why would Mom and Dad bring their child to a border with a shoot to kill policy? That'd be ridiculous...
And yes I'm serious. Do not cross or you will be shot! Seems pretty simple. Do you think if I crossed the gate at the white house after someone yelled do not cross, that I wouldn't be shot?

The only way that would be even remotely justified is if you could somehow prove that the mere act of someone crossing the border posed an imminent danger. No one can say that with any level of confidence and those folks have a right to due process under our constitution just like anyone else.
I know there are people out there (some on this board) that consider migrants sub-human and would welcome a chance to gun them down…but we are SUPPOSED to be better than that.
